it has been a long while since I last coming here.

I'm selling off my Takeshi-Made in Heaven photobook. It's his official one. it's out of print in many stores. so it's very rare.

Alittle over a year ago, I was relaxing one afternoon and flipped on the cable and saw "House of Flying Daggers." I was so taken with "Jin" that I googled the movie and discovered Takeshi. Since then, it's been a love affair. Through jdorama lists, ebay and yesasia, I have managed to obtain nearly all of his works and it's been a pleasure to watch him only improve with each project. The man is GORGEOUS!! I'm so tired of American actors and films--Asian cinema is a real treat. I'm also a fan of Yutaka Takenouchi. I think I'd die of ecstacy if Takeshi and Yutaka ever made a film together--swooooooooon. Nice to find this site.

Sounds like you've redefined the term "ga-ga." Smile

I haven't seen many of his works, but of those I have seen, he was quite good... My favorite at the moment would have to be Returner... Smile

Very excited to read some news about Takeshi's projects. He has just signed to star in "Shinigami no Seido" ("Accuracy of the God of Death") where he actually plays a grim reaper role. The film will be backed by Warner and will be released in Spring 2008. We have much to look forward to--TK has been a busy man. His other two films "Ci Ma" or "The Warlords" will be out this December. That film looks like an awesome historical piece and also stars Jet Li and Andy Lau (one of my favorite Chinese actors!). "The Wall of the Red Cliffs" is in post-production and will br released in early Spring 2008.

Ohh there's a Takeshi thread? I never knew that. Newaiz, I've been his fan since like 3 or 4 years ago? He's uber good looking. Mix of Chinese and Japanese, perfect! If he learned english, he'd be even better off. I also liked playing him in Onimusha hehe

And his latest news is on the Three Kingdoms movie: Battle of Red Cliffs. He has a lead role in there as Zhuge Liang. Takeshi plays the supposedly "smartest" man in this era. and he co-stars with Tony Leung, who I also love. Jet Li was originally cast but looks like he's not in the cast list. So yea.. And Chow Yun Fat left too. This is a huge production by john Woo with many famous asian actors. You guys probably don't understand but I think Tony and takeshi should switch roles because Tony is playing a novel character who's supposed to be young, handsome and ambitious. Tong Leung is handsome but he'd make better for the wiser and clever look of Zhuge Liang.

Deirdre: Sorry, but Andy Lau is in another Three Kingdoms movie starring himself, Maggie Q and Sammo Hung! What an amazing cast! I think this movie will come out first since there's already a trailer.

Hi ThyGriever, I like the illustrations and I agree with you about Tony and Takeshi's roles--they should swap. Have you seen "Confessions of Pain?" That was a cool pairing of the two of them. I recently saw "ChungKing Express" which featured a very youthful Takeshi and a younger Tony. I enjoyed that film too. If you'd like to hear Takeshi speak english, you have to see "Too Tired to Die," a 1997 film where he spoke english through the entire film. I've read that he is quite conversant in english as he attended an english-speaking school when he was younger. It's neat to hear his accent when he speaks--it's charming.

i am not sure where i read this but it was originally meant like the way you said but Takeshi and Tony switched characters because tony Leung said that Takeshi's accent is much better than him. i love both anyway.
