I got this recently..

"If Kimutaku (Kimura Takuya) quits smoking, then I will, too." This is
the promoting phrase for a group focused on "No Butts". Representatives
from the Watanabe bunkaku conducted a survey and asked which celebrity will
have the most effect on encouraging the public to quit smoking. Results
show that Kimura Takuya ranked 1 followed by Akashike Sanma and Wada Akiko.
Number 4 goes to Beat Takeshi, 5th goes to Miyazaki Hayao, and 6th goes
to Matsu Takako. They also ranked the "Worst Smoker" for politicians and
talents. About 386 people through e-mails were involved in the survey and
ranking. Kimura commented that "the number of young women smoking would
decrease".
May 31st has officially become the "No Smoking Day".

I don't know he smokes too ne Wink

he's a heavy smoker...

Tobacco giants make less revenues, so does the gov, less ppl dying, healthier society? We'll see then. Good news to non smokers since they expose to passive smokin in the public places which is more dangerous than smokin itself. Japan has one of the most smokers in the world. Btw You'll never know when Kimutaku gets cancer, hehe. Lung cancer usually exposes at middle age.

You're not kidding. but not just in JPN tho, a lot of places in asia, the smoking is much, much more than here in the U.S. I guess in the more rural area, i guess, maybe the major u.s. tobacco companies pushes the cigs to them b/c of the people quitting tobacco in america.

By the way pemu, is there a lot of smokers in finland?

Hehe! You're right, Japan's not the only one. Korea and China among the highest in Asia. More advertise on the media, ppl being misled about a true danger of smokin, "light/slimt" tobacco being less danger to the health than "normal". Tobacco advertise/sponsor being fully forbidden in the EU by 2006. There has been a propose that smokin in the public places is forbidden. They plan to use a heavier measure to "scare off" ppl on smokin, they use Canada's example, a picture of lung cancer is displayed on the pack, covers at least 70 % of the front. I'm sure it'll scare em off, if not, at least the price will! A Malboro pack costs 4 , tobacco tax will be increased, hehe.
Men's and boys' smokin have declined, Women's same as before but girls' have increased in Finland.

I have never smoked before. Does smokin really relieve your stress?
Accordin to research it adds more stress than relieves.
