You can't get anyone to quit anything if they don't want to. People have to do things for themselves and only themselves. Same with drugs and alcohol. Yup, it could go either way. They might thank you for pushing them to quit the habit, or resent you for being someone they don't want to be.

I'm not sure I hate smokers...but I definitely hate the smell, the breath, as well as cigarrette butts and nasty phlegm on the ground. Seriously you smokers, the ground is not a damn trash can.

i don't buy cigarettes but i do smoke .....a lot even ..... i'd rather stop..
but keep asking ppl to crush their cigarette and they end up getting upset or even asking you gently to go dye somewhere else ..nice aren't they ? ...even if you are actually coughing from it ...

i say good job to those that actually understand and restrain their need until they aren't imposing themselves to others .and it's even better with a nice smile

What pisses me off is that I was about to light up a cig on a sidewalk. A public sidewalk. No constricting space/air. Open air everywhere. Two people (a couple: guy and girl) walk by BEFORE I even light the cigarette up and start coughing and gacking while looking at me. I told them to f*%$ off as there is no "No Smoking" sign in sight and not to mention that I haven't even lighted the cigarette up yet. The guy stopped and got up in my face and told me that I'm a "menace to society" (because I smoke). Jeez. He must've been on a bad trip.
God, do people hate smokers that much?

Thats really messed up of that guy, what a punk. I don't know if people hate smokers, but i know people don't really the smell of smoke. Still can't believe he called you a menace to society and you didn't even lit the cigarette. I would have knocked him

well i'm sorry this pissed you off ..... i hate the fact that ppl smoke ... but i wouldn't come to you and do that ... i mean you can smoke if you want .. they didn't have to act this way, just go elsewhere since it's only a side walk. but if it was a bus stop, i can understand they reacted this way because they had to stay there awaiting for it there you smoke .... in fact, i'll take it in the good side: you won't waste it and save it for after but they chose a rude way ..
