I HATE that stereotype. There is only ONE Province in Canada where they speak with that particular accent. And it's a tiny province. |
Gomen Sensei Those people from PEI really get around, eh.

No worries, my cringe was unnecessary. Another stereotype I hate is the one about speaking French. Not all Canadians speak French. _________________

I thought all Canadians spoke English: all the Canadian stamps that I have in my collection had a picture of Queen Elizabeth on it.

That sounds like some type of Scottish accent.

They don't.

That's where the dialect is derived from. The settlers in the eastern provinces are mostly traced back to Scotland and Ireland. _________________

I never knew that either. Is that Nova Scotia? |
It's more Newfoundland and Nova Soctia. Newfoundlanders speak a dialect us central peeps hardly understand... hence all the newfie jokes.
Anyways... back on topic. Tabana hasn't dropped in for awhile... _________________

Prince Edward Island is the home of Ann Of GReen Gables. An extremely popular turn of the century childrens book. PEI grows mostly potatoes and is on the Gulf stream so the waters are surprisingly warm
I loved it there, I spent the rest of that summer on a dairy farm in Nova Scotia. Also beautiful.
And everyone spoke English _________________

OMG! You've been there?! I grew up on Anne of Green Gables and it's always been my dream to visit PEI. I'm so uber jealous. _________________

I was just thinking about her when I saw a post of hers in an older thread. She didn't specify WHEN after New Years should return... >>shifty eyes<< _________________

If you've seen EstherM's Last.fm profile picture, you'll know her falling down drunk is a distinct possibility.
But seriously, I always enjoy her posts, so I'm looking forward to her return.
