That's three.
Better make that 4.
'Cause the "hell hole" company that I left end of last year, one of their branches (in Kapolei) still uses Windows 98. Man, that thing is soooo slow and constantly freezes at the workplace. _________________

I have windows 3.1 on my awesome 33mhz computer that we still use!!... It boots into dos and you gotta type in the command "win"
If no one hasn't mentioned it, you should add that command to your autoexec.bat file. (Oh don't forget to add 'del *.*' to really speed up your boot time .....no don't do that )
Hey now, 98 was pretty good, it actually worked. ME on the other hand... no comment... Of course, 98 has its problems with recognizing the CPU correctly once it's a "bit" more modern. But apart from that it was pretty good.

Guh, Win98 had this awful tendency to lock up at the most inopportune times...
Like always.
Yep. Like whenever it was slow at work (my old "hell hole" job) and I used to visit this site, whenever I wanted to make a post or log in, SOMETHING would happen. .........Just my luck. Or was it a conspiracy theory originated by that freaking doodoo system Windows98? _________________

Jus a quick question tho, how due u get rid of all dem pop ups??? Those pop up aren't due to any viruses or anything are they?
They are mostly caused by Javascript code. Simple solutions, use Firefox instead of IE, get a popup blocker (the Google toolbar has one, for example) or install Service Pack 2 if you have XP.

just install the google toolbar, and enable its "block pop up" button, u will see it easily when u install it. to find the toolbar just look up "google toolbar" on google itself.
which OS do u have, cause with XP and IE6 .. the IE also has popup blocker installed in it.
i use google ... is cool
as far as comp knowledge goes ... believe me U have more than enough to live through your life
in XP is it possible to know which 'process' is being used by an action/program. cause sometimes this F*^%$^%$ XP locks on to a process and does not release it even when the application is finished.
so i was wondering if i can know the name of the process then can kill it directly from task mgr.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I know exactly what you are asking. But a process that is hanging will probably be consuming all of the CPU. You can get to the Task Manager easily by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc. Under the Processes tab, you can see the CPU usage. The bad process will likely have a CPU usage of about 99. Highlight it, then End Process. Hopefully that will release your stuck computer.

It's a lot easier to end the process by tossing it out the window!
