'Cause it's a special cable from Sony and Radioshaft doesn't carry squat.

Today's Status:
- Went to my brother's house and retrieved the missing A/V cable that I need to pipe video into the DVC. And got lunch out of it, to boot. 
- Encountered a new obstacle: according to manual, the Sony DVC moves digital video back and forth via its (somewhat proprietary) 4-pin i.Link cable and (apparently) its VAIO computers only... 
- Some research on the 'net has revealed that Sony's i.Link is nothing more than a 4-pin version of Firewire (IEEE-1394), so I think all I need is an adapter cable from the 4-pin Sony DVC to a 6-pin Firewire card.
If anyone can confirm or negate this hunch, please let me know. Some searching has revealed that these adapter cables exist, so I feel pretty good about this hunch.
- The other issue is what software do I use to get this new hardware up and running? The DVC came with a CD which appears to have some video editing software in it, so that might just do it, but I have to install it and check...

Hey, it would be cool for you to tape it on VHS (SP) as well... As a failsafe...
Along with the VHS, I'm going to use my bro's DVcam, but I've got get the Sony iLink/Firewire thing squared away. Plus I might need a shitpot of HD space for the video when I do pipe it over to my PC......
