How long were you in Tokyo? Was it 3 years or something?

Yeah, Osaka is great and the people are way more friendly than in Tokyo. Well of course that is IMO.

Are you planning on living in Japan after your schooling is over?

I'm here right now, I live in Tokyo. I have been here for 6 months now, studying for a year for my last year of college. I'll head back home to SoCal in July, hang around for a month or so, buy some suits and dress shirts, then I'm looking to get a work visa to work in Japan doing pbƂAł񂾁B

Wow. Boy are you lucky (IMO). I would've killed to study abroad! hehe Beaten So that's when you're planning to go to Osaka?

Yups. I hear you esp on that one! To do anything in Japan (providing you want to live there and what not) is worth the pain and hassle (IMO).
$h*t, I'd strip there if I could stay!!!!! Beaten hehe hehe
I don't know why I haven't gotten around to living there for school....... maybe 'cause I don't have enough to support me for the time I want to stay there Beaten And as far as work goes, I don't have a degree (which makes me pretty much S~ to them) so I can't get a reputable job there either. Rolling eyes
Oh well, it looks like only tourist visits/visas for me.

I did a year at Kansai Gaidai, near Osaka..was a pretty decent experience. I'm finishing up my undergrad in the States now, might look into a graduate program at a Japanese uni at some point. Friend of mine is trying to get into a grad program at , I would look into something like that in a couple years..need a break from school for a while though. Might just grab some teaching work for a bit when I go over there this May.

Good to see that you've studied in Japan. Boy, like I said earlier, I would've killed to study or work (and live) in Japan. *sigh* How I miss the food, weather (except summers) and girls! Naughty *LOL* hehe
If I ever had a chance, I'd live in Osaka/Kobe. Or maybe Okinawa as well? I think Tokyo would be too overwheming for me. Nut
You're going back to Japan in May?! Oh, Angry you lucky bastard!!!!! My vacation ain't till Sept. which is probably when I'm going back. But rather, I prefer the winter seasons as the 'time' to go. (Preferably Dec-Feb).

I'm from San Diego, so this cold we are having in Tokyo right now is like hell for me. It snowed today!! That's the 4th time this year it has snowed in Tokyo! I love summers here, give me hot weather anytime. As a bonus, hot weather makes girls wear less clothing.

Heh, not with the kind of weather we've been having lately. A storm passed over and now we just have the doodoo trail of it. Off and on raining. Can't make up it's mind. Sunny one moment, the raining the next Rolling eyes Besides, I LOVE the cold weather!!! I mean, being from Hawaii and all, especially since we don't have that kind of weather here.
Heh, my first snowman looked like he was on crack! Beaten

that storm was probably the one that just hit tokyo the other day - it was snowing!! it was starting to warm up and then all of a sudden we got this massive cold-front that swept over us.

I don't think it's very common in every day conversation, it's a little strong (sound kinda anime-ish). s@(ikou) is more common for lets go in daily conversation.

ikuzo is a very harsh and masculine way of saying, "let's go!" I rarely hear it used in person, you must have heard it from an anime, correct?

oh really? this side of Japan you would hear it about as often as "washi", but then again I don't talk to 60 year old men too often, so I don't see when I would have the chance to hear "washi" used that often.

Yeah, my school also offers Kansai Gaidai for study abroad. After how many semesters of Japanese, did you go there? How much did your Japanese improve after a year at Kansai Gaidai? If my schedule permits, I am considering studying there for a semester in the future. Chatter

I had done 2 years of university level Japanese before I went to Gaidai. The Japanese program is much more intense at Gaidai then the classes I took before. Basically I learned 2x more in 1 semester than in 2 years of Japanese at my university before that. Of course the fact that you are living in Japan helps also. If you have any questions feel free, I can answer just about anything about Kansai Gaidai.
