I think it is probably from
�e�� �y���܂z (adj-na,n) crude; rough; plain; humble; (P)
in which case it's probably a polite phrase playing down something that you have done for someone else.

e.g. "It's but a poor thing, however I hope you found it of use."

Like "how's it going?" "how have you been?" "what's new?" "what's up?".. etc..

One i often use is 'dou yo?'/'dou yo choushi wa?'

I'm sure other people will post a million other ways of saying 'sup?' etc.. just my two yen. (^^)

My honey's from Yamagata-ken and she says "yabachii!" when she suddenly gets wet and cold (like I sneeze on her!). Does anyone else use this word, or she crazy? Crazy
