hoshino mari is definitely underrated... her acting in shin hoshi no kinka was awesome! i always cried while watching her in the show... and surprisingly, that was the only show she had a lead role in!

I remember her. She played the daughter of Kinpachi sensei. She's all grown up now. Very cute.

Another one: Sachiko Kokubu. Her performance in Shiawase no Shippo was short (in Haru Ran-man it was even shorter) but it was still good. She's so both cute and sexy!

I think Shinichi Tsutsumi is horribly underrated. Consider he is the main male character & seems like when ppl talk about Yamato Nadeshiko... they just FORGOT about him... I think he is very good in Yamato. As good as Nanako.... WHY OH WHY....
Good Luck! too.... I dun think they can find other guys who can act like him as Koda (the stern auditor who dissed everyone but still respected). I think he is still very unpopular despite his talents, just because he has no Takuya looks~ Recently he has a LITTLE more supportors seeing from his votes... when I tot I'm the ONLY one... And there is miserably few sites on him................
Come back to the fact... do you all know him? Okay... just to be safe...

Tsutsumi Shinichi fits the role of Koda-cyborg perfectly, I agree with iluvhyde, there's no better guy than him.
Btw he had a little appearance in Azumi as one of the three hunters (everything is "kawaii" to him, even when he got beaten up, lol).

This is TSUTSUMI SHINICHI! << LOOK CAREFULLY!
He's not as popular because surgically enhanced young boys and rock star types are the flavor in Japanese tv and film.
Not masculine... MEN.
Japan's media oriented ageism is some of the worst in the world from what I've seen. _________________

Yah, I do agree that Tsutsumi Shinichi is underrated..he is a very good actor, as in he really can protray diff roles without pple thinking its the same expression or same character n stuff.. Here are some of the diff characters he played
Good Luck (most well-known character)-Koda san ,damn serious guy but really cool (He was the one that attracted me in Good Luck rather than Takuya, surprising )
Lunch no Joou-the big bro who is a good for nothing,haha..he very funny inside
Koi no Chikara- the talented creative director who is sturborn, proud but childish in some ways, absolutely dunno how to deal with gals *grin*
Yamato Nadeshiko-the nice,yasashii guy
These all the only few dramas I have watched with him, anybody watched Beginner?
As of his age, he 40 already,so cannot expect him to be as popular as the young idols in their twenties
Heard that he was a stage actor in the past n only joined the dorama scene at around 30.. actually,he is more of a movie actor. He made some really good movies in the past, like a postman blues (highly-acclaimed)
My mum watched one of his movie abt baseball, think he was very young cos my mum said he is really shuai..haha
K..crap too much, but wanna add another underatted actress is Fukatsu Eri!!!

Yamada Takayuki? I think he's getting more and more popular now with being the lead in the last two drama he made.
I think Tsukamoto Takashi is VERY underrated. I mean, he's HOT and he's a great actor. I'd love to see him in a main role. Same goes for Shun Oguri. He'd even deserve it more. He has the talent.
As for female actors.... Suzuki Anju. I like her a lot.

i have seen him in Kizarazu Cat's Eye and others ,most girls are taken by his looks... but his acting is ok, i wouldn't call it great, but it is good..
i think that Yamada Takayuki deserves the roles he gets.. now HIS acting is great!

his upcoming play "Dumb Waiter" will start its rounds in May..
its only that he dun appear much in doramas..
only had his 1st drama series when his 32...tats why pple outside of
Japan whose main means of getting to know of these Japanese actors is thru Jdramas, dun really know him

I agree that Tsutsumi Shinichi is underrated. I also saw him in Good Luck, Yamato Nadeshiko, and Koi no Chikara. His acting skills are very versatile and exude charisma. I think he is good-looking and charming too as he has the classic masculine Japanese Otoko look. Hope he gets more lead roles and better stories to star in.
