Oh and BTW did you guys have trouble reading the subs. They were apparently made for speed readers. They mostly disappeared long before I read about 2/3 of the sentence. I finally had to hit the pause button if I thought something meaningful was said towards the plot.
Can't remember if the subs on the copy I watched were okay or not, because it was so long ago. Lack of quality control on the part of the subbing team, I guess. It happens sometimes.
I found both Hello! Miss and Green Rose available for d/l on Silent Regrets. I was hoping someone would mention either of those two. Now that you say Hello!Miss.... that will be my next drama.
I have Hello! Miss! Did you already start downloading it?! If not, I can send it to you with Snow White!!

Wah! I really enjoyed Full House.
Right now I'm on the 20th episode of Boys Over Flowers. Once the novelty of the boys' hotness wore off, I found the show dragging FOREVER. The show could have ended around episode 15. But it ends at 25. Eeesh. Much prefer the Japanese version (Hana Yori Dango).
I think this is the 20th korean drama I've seen in a row.
Btw I'm going to Korea this summer! _________________
Hey Sambalici! Fancy bumping into you here. The eagle has landed! lol.
Yo! Roger that captain, heh.
About Bi, no offense to fashion enthusiasts but for me his clothes (especially man-cleavage thing) on Full House were a little bit over the top at best. But he looks like a nice dude, his clash with Stephen Colbert was fantastic

WAIT!.... I'm not saying that I'm not enjoying Full House to the utmost. Just some minor criticisms. I'll only FF, based on the crtiques from former viewers, if the plot becomes repetitive.
Hmm Korea....You kow who to look for and give her my love...no.... don't give it to her just tell her.
Please send it(Hello! Miss). I only d/l the first episode.
I'm d/l Green Rose now which I'll send you in turn. It's not a great copy for my discriminating requirements. lol. Looks like it may have started on VCR with a bandwidth of less than 1200 bps. And for some God For Saken Unknown reason this version is in 288x208 format which means that it takes forever to render it for DVD. Where do these folks get their crazy bandwith and dimension ideas from. yikes. end-of-rant

RALPH! Wait then. I'll try to get Green Rose, since I have a lot of connections now when it comes to Korean dramas. Give me one day. Actually, I'll make a phone call right now.
[calling]...[/calling]
Alrighty, so one of my peeps is checking for a mint copy. She said she'll call me later tonight or tomorrow morning, so hold off in d/ling it for now!
In the meantime, I'll start burning Snow White and Hello!Miss. Btw, I have Hello!Miss in data files so I'll convert them for you. Or would you rather the data files? I remember you telling me that your DVD player can play those now? _________________

I stopped at the halfway mark, around the time that Jun-pyo morphs into Mr. Cold & Evil. Couldn't stand the second fiddle guy, either. Each time he played his stupid fiddle in some forest glade or on a mountaintop (lol okay not really), I wanted to stomp all over his beloved instrument -- which, incidentally (or not), was the exact same color as his perfectly coiffed hair.
But I think it was Jan-di's dumbed-down portayal that I hated the most. Makino forever!!!!! (Shan Cai from Meteor Garden rocked, too. )
Oh, and have a blast in Korea!

Lol, the stuff he had to wear for FULL HOUSE was just wack. I've read reports that he IS Mr. Nice Guy despite his pan-Asian pop star status. OMG, the Colbert vs. Rain smackdown was freaking hilarious!!!!!

@EG: I wish I could stop dramas half-way, but I have this mental disorder where I have to finish the things I start. Books, TV shows, dramas, manga, etc. If I start it, I have to finish it no matter how painful I find it.
I would have stopped watching Boys Over Flowers after episode 2, when I realized that Jun Pyo's curls aren't natural.
@Ralph: Okay, so my contact got the first episode of Green Rose and I think it's the same version you're downloading. The quality is good, but it's small. So to compare, does yours have the number 15 in the top right corner and the word "DivX" in the bottom right corner? If so, they're the same. _________________

Yes. It's the same and probably the only copy out there. So I'll d/l it since it's on megaupload it's a fairly quick and easy d/l. It will give me a chance to send something to you too.

AS for Green Rose, I think I might have a different version. _________________
When i was watching Personal Taste the other day, i thought how formulaic korean romantic/comedy dramas are. I mean yes there are and always will be cliches/patterns in storywriting in general, and i'm well aware of the dorama cliches as well but korean romantic comedy structure is fixed to the death, there is too little room for changes. Although Personal Taste is a novel adaptation, so maybe this is a general issue about korean fiction. For example:
-A "Cold vs Naive" couple
-A childhood friend who has a crush on Cold character. (this childhood friends are generally secondary villians in story)
-An abusive (ex)lover of Naive character, who gets in fight with Cold character at some point.
-"Evil" elders
-A mid season entrance of the ex-love of Cold character, which this ex-love made him/her cold/insensitive.
-A love confession from this ex-love to Cold character which confuses everyone for a few episodes.
List can go on and on. I'm not complaing about it, I like korean dramas but after some point it becomes funny when you guess "now this will happen, now this character will join the story" and then everything goes as you thought. (But Personal Taste's story looks like it has a little bit space for change in dynamics, "pretending to be gay" thing shifts the odds a little bit for now, not too much but it makes the story fresh enough)

I actually thought the whole "pretending to be gay" would just lead to your usual cliche's/misunderstandings, so I was hesitant to watch Personal Taste. But once, Son Ye Jin was cast, I decided to watch it. I don't regret the decision because I'm totally loving her portrayal of her character. He can't help but love her.

Same here, i thought gay misunderstanding would be cheesy but when i started Son Ye Jin made me watch for her heh.
But i like how they handle the gay situation, especially final of episode 7 was very well done.
WAH! So I finally finished Boys Over Flowers. What a painful experience it turned out to be in the end!
It was great going in. Lots of eye-candy, good fun. But somewhere around episode 15 it got REALLY redundant, and right after the whole sequence of events revolving the fiance (who was great, btw), it got downright painful. I'm not sure how I made it through the last five episodes.
Pretty boys can only make you excuse so much. At the beginning I would have rated it as an 8/10. But my final is a stern 6/10. So sad.
On a brighter note, I've started City Hall again (after fixing it) and I'm loving it! _________________

Yeah, it's probably one of the worst k-drama I've seen.
Is it really that bad? I heard everyone likes that drama and i was considering to watch it just because of that, not my type of drama normally.

for me BBF/BOF was good,,,but I prefer the Japanese one (HYD),,,**cos I can find Shun kun and MatsuJun**
BBF was more dramatic and too much stories from other characters....I mean not only from the main characters....and I guess it was too long...(25 episodes)
but I really like the soundtracks from BBF/BOF
there's nothing to lose if you try to see it _________________
