Started watching Painter of the Wind. Pleasantly surprised, it doesn't have the most common Kdrama failing, which is time-wasting for me. The pace is brisk and the story is engaging. The writing is not purely plot driven, actually felt a bit like Jdrama in that a lot of attention was spent on the motivation behind painting and why they do what they do. I really like it so far.

I started watching Bad Family and Cityhunter
While I am loving Bad Family inconditionally (if you can recommend similar Korean dramas I would be grateful ) I am unsure if Cityhunter will not turn out Shittyhunter. Big budget but maybe a few cliches too many?

Started and finished White Christmas - a short 8 episodes psychological thriller about 8 kids spending christmas in their deserted and isolated boarding school. I wasn't too impressed by the first episode as I thought it would be the typical whodidit a la Aghata Christie or Trick. But it's a little more than that, I taken aback by the twists and turns it took. Completely unrealistic story of course, produced probably only to give the hottest newcomers a platform but heygreat popcorn drama.
The soundtrack was unusual but extremly cool, late 80ties, 90ties stuff like the Pixies, Massive Attack, AC/DC, Suede, Mercury Rev.

Have you seen Cinderella Man? It's also about a character who plays the part of another character. Here we've got twins that are separated at birth and one grows up in a wealthy family while the other one in a foster home. They meet eventually but don't know they're related. When the wealthy twin needs to go abroad but doesn't want his family to know, he pays his "brother" to replace him. I REALLY enjoyed this drama.

This one sounds great. I LOVE these "fairytale" themes. Seems like most Korean dramas ride of these themes.
Just finished Take Care of the Young Lady. VERY enjoyable. I don't why Yoon Eun Hye got so much criticism for playing a bratty princess. It was a drastic departure from the Coffee Prince but she looks absolutely GORGEOUS in her costumes. Great actress too. _________________

^ thanks BuyMeThisDress - I'll check out Cinderella Man!
I watch Korean dramas only very occassionaly and try to be very selective as they tend to be very long, 20 to 24 one-hour episodes, a lot of time that goes down the drain. I must admit that they do action, thriller mixed with history and a certain type of comedy/romance much better than other Asian countries.
Very funny, witty romantic comedy by the Hong sisters about the entertainment business, the media and its fans. Great performances by the two leads (Cha Seung-won and Gong Hyo-jin). Ranks right up there with My Girlfriend is a Gumiho as my favorite romcoms.

I'm very picky about my dramas too. I check the ratings...the reviews...the cast...the synopsis...and if it's look good I'll take a sneak peek from one of those streaming websites and if the first episode gets me hooked, I'll buy the DVD so I can watch it on a BIG screen (read TV). The most enticing first episode I saw had to be Shinning Inheritance. When I found the DVD in my mailbox it felt like a Christmas present....

I am watching musical, my princess and It's Okay, Daddy's Girl now.
I thought It's Okay, Daddy's Girl was pretty lackluster. I'm not watching Moon Chae Won's current show because it doesn't interest me. Although, I do want to see more of her.

It's so boring I stop watching after one episode. Her new KBS show is boring too. I hope they give her better drama's soon

Inactive for a while here, just viewed a couple of films, The Actresses, bit of a strange one, sort of a movie/docu, bit interesting though.

And another film with possibly the hottest woman to walk upon the face of this planet, do you know her JS? _________________
