Also, I have alot of Japanese friends, therefore my knowledge of Japan is quite alot. However, I wish I could go there someday as I never went to Japan before. Anyways, Yoroshikuonegaiittashimasu~
Yo! Osu! (Sorry, took the liberty of correcting your mistake up there in the bold font) Read your last post on this topic but chose to reply to this one rather. Because you don't know me, guess I'll start off with a formal greeting.

Reasoning for watching dramas: The women! (Uchiyama Rina, Yada Akiko, Fujiwara Norika, Mizuno Miki, etc) Oh, and it's interesting as well.
Favorite Artists: Mr. Children, Gospellers, Utada Hikaru, Amuro Namie, Chemistry, Hirai Ken, (Don't laugh about the following as I do like "old school" too) Nakamori Akina and Yamashita Tatsuro.
About me: I am 4th generation Japanese who was born and raised in Hawaii. Was taught bits and pieces of Japanese language when I was young. (from about 2-5 years old) After I hit about 6, I was no longer spoken to in Japanese anymore. Took Japanese language classes when I was about 12 for that one year. Pursued taking more in high school when I was 15. Wasn't too interesting (school lessons), so I didn't really attend the classes. But instead, I made it an effort to learn on my own rather (Not isshoukeme, but half-ass learning) Wasn't until one year and a half ago (when I met my girlfriend [from Japan]), that I really put my all into learning the language AND culture. For I have learned that you cannot grasp everything there is to know until you have that "Japanese spirit" in you. (Why they do what they do. From when. How they do what they do. Why they think the way they do. Etc.) So I'd say my proficiency has increased an incredible amount in only the past year and half, but it wasn't until I grasped that "spirit".
So let's get on with it.....
HAJIMEMASHITE. UEHARA KIYOSHI TOMOUSHIMASU. YOROSHIKU ONEGAI ITTASHIMASU!
My girlfriend has played a major role in my Kansai-ben. I went to Japan twice only. Each time was 1 month or a little more. (I go to Ashiya-shi, Hyogo-Ken) It's good to see you want to live in Japan. Ganbatte yo!
Originally, as I have mentioned before, majority of my ancestory is from Itoman village, Okinawa. The minority is from Hiroshima. Thus I am 3/4 Okinawan and 1/4 Japanese. Pretty much "same smell" as I have mentioned earlier. Some people would still like to insist that I am Okinawan and NOT Japanese. Hmmmmm.
Well ok you "politically correct" people, say what you want but that's what I think! Japan and Okinawa are consisted of the same type of people. Eventually, they got seperated and Okinawa became a kingdom of it's own. During the World War 2, U.S. took control of Okinawa and it wasn't until too long ago in which the U.S. gave it back to Japan, as now, Okinawa is no longer a kingdom of it's own but part of mainland Japan. It's very comparable to North Korea and South Korea. You would still refer to them as Koreans in general and not specifically point each one out as N.K. or S.K. If a Korean was living in the U.S., you wouldn't call them a S.K. or an N.K. NORMALLY (as some people aren't) you'd call them Korean. (B.T.W. There's a couple of Korean members here who can vouch for me on this right? Y'all ain't refered to as S.K. or N.K. right? You're referred to as just Korean right?! Thanks in advance)
SAME THING. OKINAWANS AND JAPANESE ARE THE SAME! ~nuff said.
So far, I've not run into anyone like this in this forum. Please keep it that way! I don't want to have arguments about what nationality I AM! I'll call MYSELF what I will. If you want to argue about MY nationality, you better think about where you stand, 'cause you ain't me! Call yourself what you want, and I'll call myself what I want.

g'day
well, I'm new (duh, what a surprise ), am 28, male and from Austria. Anyone who doesn't know where that is will meet this thing here at once *holds up spanking paddle*
My dorama experience itself is rather small atm *still DLing Summer Snow, but is soon done with it muahaha* Why'd I DL that as my first one? Well, there's a rather simple answer for that... *holds up a shield with two words "Ryoko Hirosue"* nuff said?
Some might ask "why the name Voort?" Also very easy to answer that. My first RPG character was named "Titus Voort", and that was... well... ages ago... Since then, everybody calls me Voort, no matter what name I use, so I decided to stick with it.
And I have to warn you... I might fall into australian slang sometimes with writing things like "ken" instead of "know" or "aye" instead of "yes" or "aight" instead of "right", "faer" instead of "fear" etc... *blames all the crazy australians he knows*
How did it start? Well... I started to "sniff" into Japan nearly 2 years ago. The first experience was a Gundam episode a friend sent me. Then I ran into Evangelion and became a fan of it, and the rest more or less happened by itself. I think I'm scaring people around here by now with being too japanophile. MUAHAHAHA FEAR!!!
Hobbies? well... apart from Japan?
simple... music, history (yes, fear!), Stargate, LOTR, RPGs;
I used to like Star Wars once, but then Lucas made the prequels and... meh... ruined the whole thing...
And I still think Stargate lacks a japanese scientist in one of the teams!!!
If anyone wants to know more, ask me, or press the button "MORE" on your screen... wait, on my screen... or... errr... nm...
If you haven't noticed yet, I can be insane sometimes...
<-- my favourite phpbb smiley... looks like a Romulan, gotta love'em...

Name: Jenny (as I'm usually known on other boards)
Location: The Truckstop in Canada - trust me if you're from there or near there, you'll know where it is.
Artists: I listen to: Silver Ash, Gackt, Hyde (I did watch Moonchild and I luv it!), Daigo, Nookicky, David Tao and a bunch of others....too numerous to name....
I started watching doramas for a year now - my first one was GTO of course - basically I got into doramas through anime (though I still watch a lot of anime - texhnoloyze and peacemaker kurogane right now)
But I've watched quite a bit of HK dramas too - more of the old stuff on vcds, then the new shows....right now, I'm trying my first subtitling project on the side - Final Verdict, an HK drama...only b/c I gave up trying to sub Wangan Police Station series...I've been stuck on ep1 for the last 3 weeks...*sigh* I'm an overall lazy person.
Anyways, my favourite dorama are Heaven Cannot Wait and Oyaji and my favourite HK dramas are The Green Hope and The Greed of Man.
My other interests include: philosophy (one of my other majors - and I have a lot of them) and the stockmarket...that's about it. Well and shopping too...
