I've watched Nakama in all three Trick series and both Gokusen. She plays pretty fun characters. Any idea if she's doing any new dramas in 2006? :fingerscrossed:

Yukie-chan is also in a new Drama called "Haru e Natsu", I saw a few clips on a interview with her that was posted onD-Addicts.
Also, it looks like I'm not going to get around to uploading those Music videos today, sorry. I've been super busy. I'll definately do them tommorow. Will MegaUpload be ok with everyone?

This might sound off topic but it actually is on-topic. I have downloaded the Gokusen Special and it's softsubbed. The question is, how do I play .smi [the subtitle] files?
Also, how do I combine .srt/smi files together with the AVI? I want to burn some Yukie doramas onto CDs.

Hello, new on a this sort of thread ^^'
I really like Yukie since Gokusen and now carrying on with Tokyo Wankei. (I know I'm very newbie with doramas and always two years behind every fan out here.)
I'm watching Tokyo Wankei, and began looking for the soundtrack. I searched through the forum and found that there used to be a link here for it but obviously that died, so maybe a very kind person could re-upload the CD somewhere?? I'm mainly looking for the insert song, so if it's too big or too much trouble, just that song (Boku wa wasurenai by Jitensha ni notta fuukei) would make me already very happy.
Ah this was a bad intrusion on my part, just trying my luck in case the official thread for requests don't work quite as well.
To get back on the official subject, do you have any dorama with Yukie that you could recommend after the two I've watched? Something preferably that's easy to find through BT or IRC.

You need to download a program called VobSub, you can use that to load subtitle files onto videos. About hardSubbing them, I have no clue... I'm trying out a few methodds as we speak, but none of them have worked.
I'll let you know if I can come up with anything. In the mean time, try searching on D-Addicts, someone on there might be able to help you more.

Welcome to the thread, beanie_xz, you'll find that we're all Yukie crazy on here. Except for Chris, who's Yukie mad, this is a smilie of him
Anyhoo, about the songs for Tokyo Wankei, your not the only one who's been searching for the OST for this show. I played a Korean friend (from uni) an episode, and he said that almost all of the songs on this show are very famous in Korea.
So, you might be able to get some great results if you try and ask some Korea people on here and on D-Addicts. Or you could put it in the Request thread, I got the theme tune that way. Other than that, I can't help you... Sorry.
Ooh, I'm uploading my Yukie PV's right now, sorry that they've been late. I've been uber busy.
@seppydude
Thanks for your advice and welcome ^^
I'll keep on looking. First, I'll wait to see if there's any response through the "official" ways (with the more or less related threads). If not, I'll try your way and ask some Korean friends of mine and also people on the forum.
I have found one song from the OST, If played by Younha from her own EP. If anyone wants that, I'll happily share it. But it's not the TV version. ^^'
Anyways, am discovering a whole new horizon of J-fandom with PVs and stuff . hehe Am going to go see what they are like ...
Was there a book released at the same time as Tokyo Wankei?
In the show, the book was called "Destiny of Love", if you go to Yukie's official site, then click on "Book". "Destiny of Love" is mentioned there.
What do you guys think?
EDIT:
I found it on amazon... it's here. Is this a book based on what hapens in the show? Or is the book from the show?
EDIT AGAIN:
Ok, the above link is an essay about the subject matter. Snooping around Amazon.co.jp a little more, gave me this.
It looks like its the book that everyone reads in the show. Could it be that the show was just a HUGE ad for this book?
From what I've read, the novel is the original start but it was a big hit and even won a prestigious award. I'll have to check on this to get back to you (found my stuff in Chinese). So I think it might be much in the style of a lot cult-novel-turned-dramas like Densha Otoko or Sekai no chûshin de, ai wo sakebu.
EDIT: As far as I've found, Shuichi Yoshida is a renowned author who won the prestigious Akutagawa Prize for one of his novels in 2002 . He wrote many and Tokyo Wankei is his first "romantic" one. Apparently, he is very good at describing the sense of loss and loneliness experienced by young people in big cities, being a non-Tokyoite who moved up there since 18 years old. I might give it a read but it's apparently quite different from the drama with its oppy dialogue rewriting they say ( old article talking about the show at the time, WARNING VERY BAD PICTURE OF YUKIE ) but I love that scene with the caligraphy rolls at the airport ~*_*~
EDIT 2: Found some Amazon.jp links for the books.
This is the book that is in question : the original novel. The ones you've found, seppydude, are probably some sort of movie-book, I'm guessing. Also found music scores for the drama.
And damn, the books from this author in Chinese (since I read Chinese) can only be found through imports which mean that I'll just have to wait till I'm back in Asia to go to a bookstore to check.
