maybe we feel so close to them, yet we can't have them. like our best friends, i suppose : somebody that was really close to us but they still have their own lives to lead? sad.

Shige is admittedly not the greatest actor/singer/dancer in NEWS. of course, YAMAPI has done so much more acting. Ryo too has apparently gotten lead roles....so i have heard.

Having said that, i like Shige because he's a come-back kid. he's not the greatest, and he knows it - but somehow, he hasn't thrown in the towel. i have often experienced rotten luck, like he has, and although he has often lamented on his luck, he has also maintained a keen sense of humour. It's often made me laugh. i guess that's the biggest attraction for me.

Yamapi and sexyosakaman, even Kusa, they are all kind of well-loved stars, even tego. and many people forget shige. but his tenacity to keep doing his best, his flexibility and confidence levels that allow him to share intimate personal experiences like getting angry with his friends, at Shigepapa and Shigemama, and etc. etc. That's real, and he's open enough to share it - although only through the computer.

I'm sorry for being so long but just to share : i don't go only for the outside, the singing and the dancing. although those matter greatly for a young idol. but for me, shige represents 'me' ~ in a way. kind of a stubborn late bloomer, but one who is too stubborn to just fade away. that's perhaps one of the reasons why i would like him to achieve more in 2007. even if he leaves music, even if he just becomes a corporate guy, or a wood carpenter. i think he has a tenacity and stubborness that won't let him be a 'me-too'.

Oh yeah, having said all that, i guess the 2nd person in NEWS that i respect, (note the word "RESPECT") and not 'fangirl' over is RYO.

i respect him not because he is a tough macho man, but because he is a kind of gentle giant inside. maybe when you guys were growing up, you might've read about the giant who terrified people, especially little children who came to play in the garden of his beautiful castle. they swung on his apple trees, they tread on his grass, and they made such a lot of noise. and people were so afraid that the giant might wake up and scare them, so they'd not allow their children to play in his garden....etc.

but what they didn't realise was that the giant was so afraid of them. he was afraid that they might laugh at him, they might hurt him, because he was different. in a way, the giant was insecure. when they all made friends, he was really a cool dude.

Ok, this is a silly way of putting things, but the more i get to know about ryo, the more i keep calling him "The Gentle Giant". weird.

Kusa is energetic and .....confident? Yeah. Tego is polite. The rest, are pretty ok, too.

Haha, I love Kussacchi. "Confident" is the nice way of saying it, but he can be downright cocky, or at least he acts that way, which cracks me up. Tesshi is a total sweetheart, and he's kinda naive too, in a cute way. Matches with his cute, young appearance. I know what you mean about Ryo-chan too. He's the one who acts like a tough guy most of the time, but he really uses his meanness, like his comments and stuff, to cover up his shyness. This really showed the most in the NEWS Nippon 0304, I think, this shy side of Ryo-chan. I could go on about why I love each member of NEWS, because I love them all, but I'll spare you all the essay I could write. The ones it's hardest for me to "get to know," as it were, are Uchi and Shige. Uchi, it's probably just cuz of the suspension, he's been gone for a long time, and since I'm not really a KJ8 fan, I haven't seen that much stuff with him- hardly anything, really, until I watched NEWS Nippon 0304 (and found out that he's as insane as Kusano ). oh yeah, i don't know why but i seem to forget koyama in general, when compared to shige, whilst i am supposed to like shige so damn much. the only thing that got me wondering bout Koyama was the fanfics that were so rabu about koyato. each one of them featuring shige as the 'wife' or 'girlfriend'. but i got to admit that i was really amazed at how far these people can stretch it....to have 'koyato and kusano' in one affair, with first koyama and kusano 'doin' it', and then shige taking on kusa. i mean...really guys. what's that supposed to be.

Haha ryo is most oftenly paired with uchi. Ryochi won the most popular pairing in NEWS by the way hahas.

actually ryo can be paired with anyone because of his ermm actions haha. I think the only one he hasn't done something to is koyama so far

Don't go there! I watched the first episode and it bored me to death. no offense but it really was. it failed to even touch any sort of emotion in me.

It was supposed to be a dramna about dreams, growing-up, etc. and it was not even close to Water Boys. What I'm trying to say is that it's so hard to sympathize with the lead when you can't feel anything while watching it. Even ryo's character wasn't a bit emotion-mover. any thoughts on this?

I kinda like Ganbatte Ikimasshoi. I agree that the first episode was kinda blah, Anne Suzuki didn't really give me a long-lasting impression as an actress but I continued watching it anyways. I was also gonna stop watching it when Junno came into the picture but I gotta finish what I've started. The side characters were pretty interesting, especially the bond between the girls, the teachers, plus the main family involved. Back to Anne Suzuki, I didn't really like her at the beginning but I've gotten used to her acting since I've been exposed to it during Kindaichi with Jun and the movie with Nino.

My Boss My Hero was funny. Half way through the episodes I stopped watching it. Nagase's overreacting faces were kinda getting old for me. His constant yelling and smoking got me turned-off as well. But I finished it after a two month gap and I gotta say that the ending was good. Tegoshi was ok there...I didn't really like his frustrated look..it looked constipated to me. Although, its nice to see him take a different role for a change.

@ lizakajang: Haha, that's an awesome line. I love Kusano. <3 I can't stand JE fanfics though. Really. It seems wrong to me to write fanfics about real people. Especially since some of these fan fic authors seem to have...er, active imaginations. Sorry if this offends anyone, but this is how I feel.

@ x_angelize: Short version, Uchi got caught drunk and got suspended. After this, Kusano got caught in a compromising situation where it looked like he could have been drinking. He was basically suspended and then NEWS was suspended as a whole after that.

@ yeuannh: So far, jpopsuki is the only place I know of. I'm dl'ing from there right now. But it's taking sooo long. *dies*
