Thank you so much!
I've watched the first episode now... it's so adorable! Kind of sad too... I heard the show gets really sad at the end though...
T___T Now I'm paranoid of bad things happening as I watch...

SPOILER When Yuki was in the hospital, Natsuo was dead not? Than how could he be there in Yuki's room? |

I beg to differ:
It's a drama - no point in trying to rationalize too deeply.

I agree with you.. that's what I meant to say. But I also think it could be open to interpretation.
It's a stretch but you never know <_< xD

Your depicted scenario could work too. I'm merely following Occam's Razor when I made my proposal - if there are more than one solution to a problem, the simpler solution is the correct one. But then again this is a drama, getting us to talk about it passionately proves that it is a quality drama.

Just finished watching summer snow and i gotta say, the ending was a real shocker. Gotta say, it wasn't as sad as people said it was, and i didn't cry.
I had watched beautiful life a few weeks back recommended from a friend, he didn't tell me what it was about, just that it was good, so i had no idea what i was walking into when i started watching it, and the ending really hit me with a wave of emotions. Summer snow, however, i knew it was going to be sad so when i watched it, i was prepared and things that should have hit me emotionally, didn't quite have the same effect as what beautiful life had and that ulitmately ruined the ending for me.
So pointers to anyone who didn't already know this, just watch something without reading up on it, find out it if it's good or not, but don't find out if it's going to be sad, because you're not going to feel anything when you know it's coming!

i agree the intensity of the emotional impact is always greater when it's a surprise....that's why when i watch doramas sometimes i don't even watch the preview of the next episode at the end of each episode.

i entirely agree on the emotional impact you get based on whether its a surprise or not although i've also recently taken to reading summaries to determine whether or not i should get a particular series - and based on the writing of it, you can usually tell whether it's sad or not (which sorta ruins it for me). i also go by some of the numerical reviews ppl give and sometimes its a very pleasant surprise to watch something that most ppl give OK ratings but i happen to really enjoy. _________________

I did that for AP.
I got a greater joy out of each ep because i don't watch previews. _________________

My friend told me Summer Snow would be really sad so I was prepared for the worst. So as I watched it I was trying to figure out what would happen and I actually predicted it right. x_x;
I took a Humanities class that was all about analyzing art--including movies or dramas--so now I always subconsciously figure out the plot before even watching the endings... It kinda sucks. No surprises for me. ;_;
|
Education can be a curse too, it seems...
Personally I'll read a book if I'm going purely for the plot. With a drama or movie there are so many other elements involved, the plot is only one of the factors. Therefore it is not as disappointing when it becomes too predictable.
If you like twists in plots give "Teru Teru Ashita" a try.

Yeah, but I always felt they wanted a sad ending to Summer Snow so they came to this pathetic trick.
Anyway, Domoto Tsuyoshi will rock forever! But lately he's been clothing really strange.
