I know that Maru can mean circle or zero but what does it mean when it is part of a name. The only example I can come up with is Shessho-maru from Inyuyasha. In the movie Dororo the had a guy with an ending of Maru but i cant remember what his actual name is

Don already answered this question for you on the previous page:

Don wrote:

It's just part of a name like -suke. In the movie, they were trying for a name similar to Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee.

Somebody on another forum is wondering what the nickname of the Women's soccer team: Nadeshiko Japan (ȂłWp) means. Can anyone over here answer the question?

From The Japan Forum: http://www.tjf.or.jp/eng/content/japaneseculture/32soccer.htm

Quote:

The league adopted the name gNadeshiko League,h and the Japanese national womenfs team is now referred to as Nadeshiko Japan. The nadeshiko, or dianthus flower, traditionally represents the ideal Japanese woman.
