It's an exciting time.. but it's more hurry up and wait - I'm still working part time at the firm I'm at - I'm making a fantastic impression - but they're looking for someone with 5+ years in what we're doing. I think I'm making good inroads to showing them that within 6 months, I may be 90% there and in 5 years, I'll blow others away!

Well.. at least that's what I hope I'm doing.. but I've gotten some very positive feedback on my work and I really feel like I'm consistantly exceeding expectations.

I sure look forward to getting a regular salary again soon.. getting paid for 3 days a week is pretty rough...

In all seriousness it sounds like at the very least you'll have good references to put down if things at the firm don't pan out, but hopefully you'll impress them enough that they consider keeping you. One of these days I might need you to defend me

Well, it's an amazing thing about law - even though I'm involved in a fairly narrow aspect of law right now, defendant's dide insurance law, primarily, I touch on so many different areas of law every day.

It's really neat how diverse it has been - in about a month and a half now, I've had my feet in 10 or 15 different areas of law

If I do end up staying at this firm, it would be exactly the kinda place I'd wanna be: the people are good and honest; they aren't trying to screw anyone; they actually see the practice of law as a means for doing some social good. These are exactly the things I'd want.. and the other attorneys at the firm I've met so far are super nice and really supportive. I wouldn't have anything to complain about if they took me on, even if I wouldn't make nearly as much money as I would if I were at a large firm (something I don't even really care about - I just wanna live comfortably).

It may not be Sebben and Sebben.. but it's good enough for me

I just had a special treat and I'm very happy.

I had a big bowl with fresh raspberries and blackberries with some kefir poured on top and it was really yummy.
