Question: What are forum goggles?
Haha.. like Beer Goggles. When you interact with people in forums, you are exposed to a specific variety of individual and you cater your expectations around those exposures - i.e. everyone looks better than you think they must because of the stereotypes of the internet as being full of lonely, unattractive, overweight people - a conclusion which I believe is severely mistaken, especially in recent years.
I think our perception is antiquated and from when the 'internet was new' and it will be some time until we adapt our perceptions to actual cultural changes. We have everyone here: young, old, ugly, beautiful, fat, skinny, etc. And plenty more who are decidedly average. _________________

LOL! Ohhhhhhhhh I see I see. I wonder what people think I look like. Mind you, I did post pics of myself, so I guess this question is void. _________________

Neither had I.
Well.. it was a term that I didn't source from anywhere else - I just adapted the principle from other types of interaction - so it may not be a popular construction.
Was it obscure a concept, really? We routinely examine the world in the framework in which we see the target of our interests
i.e. Nodame would be a crazy person in real life.. but in a drama she can be absolutely adorable _________________

I definitely got what you were saying and I agree with the concept. Kinda like "rose-tinted glasses" on a forum.

I'm almost Nodame-like, unfortunately. Except I don't have Juri's cuteness.
And no one really commented on my new avvy. Is everyone scared off by it? I wish I could find the drama that it was from because it looks really intriguing.

You're definitely as ditzy as Nodame, coco-chan In a good way
Ditzy, sloppy, horrible cook...I *AM* Nodame!

I need an eye exam too. I had one last December and got new glasses/contacts, but I know that my eyes are already changing again. Darn those subtitled shows! _________________

Everyone has different experiences, and come from different locations, so when on the net, it's sometimes impossible to assume anything. Tho, mind you, most of the time the metaphors fly.
Do you always over analyze everything? Just take things in stride, phlargo-kun! If we don't get it, that's okay! We're just dumb.

I love how my name for coco-chan has stuck. _________________

Reminds me of my good friend in Japan, whom I rarely keep in contact with these days. "Coco" was his nickname when I first "met" him. Incidentally, his last name is Sano (Shiro!) and his first name is close to Kohinata Fumiyo's. Weird. _________________

Over-analyze? I don't like to think so. I like to think I analyze it just enough
In my life, nothing is safe, nothing is beyond reproach, nothing is without question. It doesn't always make for the most comfortable living, but it's amazingly rewarding.
I claim to live by true scientific method: I don't look for things that are true - I only try to determine what is false to get closer to what the truth may be.
It can cause some discontent among people who aren't comfortable with that level of criticm (or who assume the word criticism is a negative word)
In this way, I'm a lot like Galileo Sensei.. I get amused by everything I don't understand and find ways to make it reconcile within my framework.. or expand my understanding to encompass it. I'm just a hell of a lot better with people than he is ;-) _________________

I just made myself a lovely dinner.. Wild Sockeye baked with a spicy tomato/pepper sauce I made myself, and a beautiful salad with a nice glass of viognier to accompany.
And I talked my mom and sister and wished them a happy father's day and had some nice thoughts about my father (he passed away while I was in law school).
And while I enjoy my dinner, I'm gonna watch Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi ep04 after working hard this weekend and doing a great job drafting something for work _________________
