An F-15 just buzzed past the house... And some WW2 planes passed by earlier....

All part of the armed forces parade down Torrance Blvd.

EDIT: Second pass... Loud. Sweat

Now if the plane strafed the folks on the parade route, that would REALLY be something. Beaten

I found that the latest Angry Birds - Easter seasons was easier than the St Patricks seasons. I not only passed it, but I somehow managed to get 3-stars on all the levels, but it took over a week of playing off and on to achieve that. I was amazed that I even did that. Bonk

I did have to take a different route to get there, since Torrance Blvd. was cordoned off...

Or October, whichever comes first.

Radio host says rapture coming in October

By GARANCE BURKE, Associated Press Garance Burke, Associated Press – 32 mins ago
OAKLAND, Calif. – California preacher Harold Camping said Monday his prophecy that the world would end was off by five months because Judgment Day actually will come on Oct. 21.

Camping, who predicted that 200 million Christians would be taken to heaven Saturday before the Earth was destroyed, said he felt so terrible when his doomsday prediction did not come true that he left home and took refuge in a motel with his wife. His independent ministry, Family Radio International, spent millions — some of it from donations made by followers — on more than 5,000 billboards and 20 RVs plastered with the Judgment Day message.

But Camping said that he's now realized the apocalypse will come five months after May 21, the original date he predicted. He had earlier said Oct. 21 was when the globe would be consumed by a fireball.

Saturday was "an invisible judgment day" in which a spiritual judgment took place, he said. But the timing and the structure is the same as it has always been, he said.

"We've always said May 21 was the day, but we didn't understand altogether the spiritual meaning," he said. "May 21 is the day that Christ came and put the world under judgment."

It's not the first time the independent Christian radio host has been forced to explain when his prediction didn't come to pass. He also predicted the Apocalypse would come in 1994, but said it didn't happen then because of a mathematical error.

The "mathematical error" occured because he doesn't have enough zeroes to fill all the empty space in his head. Bleah

Shake Head

Ohio House passes bills allowing more concealed guns
Wed, May 11 2011

By Jo Ingles

COLUMBUS (Reuters) - The Ohio House of Representatives approved two bills on Wednesday that would give Ohioans more rights to carry concealed weapons, including one that allows people to carry a gun into a bar.

The latter bill allows Ohioans who have a concealed-carry permit to carry a gun into a bar, restaurant or "open air arena" such as a sports stadium that serves alcohol. The bill prohibits the person carrying the gun from drinking alcohol at the same time.

Republican Representative Danny Bubp, a sponsor of the legislation, said the bill is necessary to make sure law abiding citizens have equal footing with criminals.

"You can't always count on law enforcement to be there to protect you," Bubp said. "You have to be able to protect yourself."

The second gun bill allows Ohioans who have been convicted of misdemeanor drug offenses to carry a gun.

Current Ohio law prevents people convicted of a misdemeanor involving drugs from carrying a concealed gun.

That means some Ohioans who've committed such a crime in the past sometimes cannot get jobs in fields that require them to carry a firearm, proponents argued.

Most Democrats, the House minority, supported the bill, which now goes to the Senate for approval.

The bar legislation was more contentious and passed along party lines, with most Republicans favoring it.

The bill includes a provision that allows business owners to put up a sign saying patrons are not allowed to carry a weapon into that bar or restaurant.

Among the Republicans who objected to the bill was Rep. Todd McKenney, who said bar owners and police didn't like it.

"These are the guys with the baseball bats behind the bars, with the sheriff on speed dial, and they say 'We don't want this,'" McKenney said.

The House passed the bill by a margin of 56 to 39. The Ohio Senate has already passed a nearly identical bill.
