Until then, my favorite were from a local joint, Back 40 West Texas BBQ, but Butch's ribs were clearly superior.

In terms of bang for buck pricing, the St. Louis style ribs at Armadillo Willy's here in the Bay Area are a good deal. Many's the time I've hit Armadillo Willy's after a muddy day of mountain biking and seriously chowed on good ribs.

I can attest to Armadillo Willy's. You know the day is going to be great when the company lunch is catered by Willy's. w00t!

I ate at a Back Forty in Roseville years ago. Is this the same place you are referring to?

I ate at the one in Pleasent Hill. I made the mistake of ordering Fries to go along with my Ribs. They sent this huge bucket of fries over. It must have been big enough for 6 or 7 people. Sweat Good Ribs though.

I went to the annual western United States invitational rib cookoff in Reno during Labor Day weekend, up in Reno. It was amazing.

The best ribs I had were from this outfit in New Jersey, Butch's Smack Your Lips BBQ:
