Well, it's in. Now to test it and see if it's configured properly, oh man am I scared. And holy crap, my computer was filthy on the inside although I cleaned it VERY recently. Now I have computer dust all in my nose.

I had to reconfigure my printer, didn't have to do the modem w00t!

I hope I didn't break this computer, LOL Beaten

Reconfigure the printer?

Installing the DVD burner shouldn't have affected those peripherals... Head Scratch

The OS shoulda recognized the burner and assigned it a drive letter and that's it. Head Scratch

Nah, I unplugged everything from the tower. Sometimes when I do that I have to re-do the modem and printer. But the modem didn't need anything (good thing, it can be a real P.I.T.A.) and I only had to confirm that the printer software was installed and check the cartridge alignment. I unplugged the printer and probably put it back in a different USB port because I have 6 of them Beaten

Doing a test burn now. Unfortunately my version of Nero wants nothing to do with this burner so I'm using my crappy Roxio. Sometimes that happens when the burner is newer than the version of Nero you have. Now I have to find the newest version of Nero and a keygen bleh Using my 8x Fuji's so it's going at 8x thusfar.

Hmm, that's odd. Even though it's in a different port, Windows should be able to figure out that it's the same printer and/or modem... Dopey OS. bleh

Shouldn't you be able to download a updated driver list thingy from Nero that supports the Pioneer (for free)?

I think that's what I did for my Pioneer.... Head Scratch

The printer was detected and everything. It's the stupid software that popped up for me to reconfigure. It only took 2 minutes so it's fine.

Sure, if I had a legal version, I bet I could hehe

Mreh, my burner is assigned as drive J, not drive E. Oh well, I can fix that but for now it doesn't really matter...

You can change the drive letter in Disk Management (right click My Computer>Manage>Disk Management)...

You could check out VideoHelp.com and see if they've got an alternative to Nero/Roxio that'll do the same job.

For free. Big Grin

I think Elt and/or Dochira have that burner as well.

The Pioneer burners rock. Thumbsup

Yup, I have the A09 (same drive, different number) and it's wonderful. Burns quickly (compared to my workhorse 2x drive) and can read DVD-RAM discs.

@Kou: Believe me, everytime I open my case, I swear I can knit a sweater with all the dust bunnies in there. That's of course I learn how to knit. hehe

It's really dusty in my apartment. I am so close to putting, no kidding, pantyhose in the fan grilles. It's a really cheap filter.

I would've thought the mesh would be too restrictive.

Besides, you shouldn't waste you pantyhose. hehe

From what others have said, the air flow is fine until the dust collects.

It's not my pantyhose. Rolling eyes hehe

I don't know if you were imagining some Rocky Horror Picture Show scene or something... hehe Wink

But I could buy the fan filters from a local computer shop, I suppose. There would be less questions.

I woulda thought you'd just stretch the entire hose over your machine like a robber pulls the hose over his head.

Makes it tough to access the DVD and floppy drives, but you can't have everything. hehe

Ah, but just like a robber, I would cut holes where the drives are located. And I'd get the black 'hose. hehe
