I went to CDJapan today and the LE with DVD is already out of print. So yes, no wonder the first day's sales is so high considering the LE is already sold out.

actually, its already out of print at CDjapan 3hrs after preorder announcement. Usually the LE will be available in stores on the day of release but there's been information none can be found in Japanese music stores as of now. All sold ot I presume.
Maybe they've increased the LE prints too.
LE are used to make an impact on first day sales so this is not surprising but 107,689 is a lot an very rare to have it as high. I think they might've top the first day sales index list.

That's down quite a lot. I was expecting that because the first day's index is around 107,000, then the second day will be around at least 50,000. Well when KT got more than 100,000 index last year, the second day's sales only dropped around 50,000 or so.

No chance for Step and Go to get 500k there. The numbers are down pretty low.

yep. I was hoping the sales would be at least around 45,000 for them to make it to 500k mark. The week is not over yet but I predicting the accumulated sales will surpass LSS. Hopefully

btw, what was the KATTUN single that had managed to get 100k index? Is it Real Face? I have only datas of their recent releases. 1st day figures are hard to come by (or i just don't know where to search ). I think Keep The Faith was around 88k for the first day. If say you are comparing Kattun debut single to Arashi's nth release, i think as a debut single Real Face would have much more advantages against Arashi's Step & Go. I think JStorm announced it only 1month prior to release and just have been actively promoting it within.. 2 weeks. My facts might be wrong though since i'm just writting based on memory.

sorry for making you sweat & bow, but i tend to be quite frank sometimes.
They are Johnny's and of course they'll almost always gets the top spot on the charts, but i just don't understand the need to put down their achievement by saying that. "Oh.. that's because they are Johnny's".. but they don't get 100++++ 1st day index sales everyday.
I love the song, the PV and am a buyer. I believe most of the fans that actually bought the single love it as well. It felt like you were critisizing my purchase/taste by questioning that, eventhough you don't really meant it. I respect your opinion on the song but that post bothered me. Appology accepted and am very sorry for being harsh.

I'm not critisizing you dear and don't feel like that again. Its normal for a new single to be critic by others whether its good or not. I'm saying like that because, as I mentioned in my previous post, Arashi deserved more than this, and I also thought this is an open thread and everyone is free to give opinion and discuss anything related to Arashi whether it is good or bad, as long as they didn't mention something that of course will ruin the future of Arashi. I'm not like the Step and Go song and PV, but I do think the Fuyu wo Dakishimete quite good song. If you go outside this forum, there's a lot of arashi fanz mentioned the same thing as I do, but they said it in same way as I think.

Arashi blew me away with their first day -sales. Totally.
By the huge numbers AND Hikki being that far behind.

This single being so-so, I was thinking that with the right promo they could maybe reach LSSish-sales in the long run, but I admit that this came way from the woods.

At this rate, if the sales won't have a drastic drop (you never know, the chart's been quite unstable and when we count how the JE-releases behave in charts in general), they might even be close to the 400k-mark at the end of the week.

So i'm a bit sensitive about my Arashi merchandise :p. Its rare for me to buy anything yet I picked this because I truly love the single thus indirectly am 1 of those who contributed to the amazing first day sales figure. And I'm proud to say I bought a copy. As I said before, the "hate" is louder here than the love. I'm just representing the S&G love.

The point of my initial reproached was because you came off (note: past tense) as dicrediting/downplaying/rebuting the obvious achievement from their amazing sales figure. In my opinion its a time for us to celebrate the ocassion rather than questioning wth the single was so successful. Its just natural for me to get all work up about it.. its 108679 for goodness sake. Rare even for a Johnny's (try searching for their past 1st day sales figures). Arashi should get their due credits, not just generalizing them as Johnny's.. Claiming that its an ordinary Johnny's like achievement might not ruin Arashi future but, it still gives a whiff of negativity towards them imho. Its disheartening since they've worked hard to break the typical public perception of being "mere" idols.

And since this is an open thread, I'm free to criticize your critique. As I said before, I'm fine with fans not loving the single and am totally aware of the current fandom reaction towards Step & Go (song & PV). Unfortunately you missed reading the other theories I've suggested as to play along the trend of this thread on the reasons of S&G success (which includes Fuyu Dakishimete as one of the reasons. it in the previous page fyi.) Btw, jdorama is not the only place i've been loitering for Arashi crack fyi and I've been posting and lurking around Arashidom for quite awhile now, much longer than you presume I guess my dear .
I still stand by my opinion, the figures speaks lauder than all the talks/"hates".

If you realized here, its just me who didn't like S&G and I don't think what I'm saying before will ruin their future. well..i love the single..Step & Go..not the best..but i love it..and arashi totally deserve it, they've been in the industry since 1999..they worked really hard to achieve this..i've asked someone from japan whether arashi really popular in japan..she said that it was starting around 2006-2007 they that they've gotten so popular...iand they deserve it,,thus its up to us, fans. to spread arashi love..ganbaruyo..
