Pages show up differently on different people's computers. I don't have the same problem as Ai but I do find that pages that contain lots of animated gifs and giant pictures lag my computer like crazy. There are many moments when I want to throw my computer against the well cuz I'm so frustrated with the lagging but I put up with it because I want to read what's on this thread.
Now, when I first found out that Jun and Nino were in Arashi, the first thing I downloaded was the Hitomi no Naka no Galaxy PV. These were my first impressions:
Jun (from seeing him in Gokusen): Not good looking at all but feeling strangely attracted to him...
Nino (from seeing him in Stand Up): Ugly otaku-looking guy who can't stand straight
Aiba (from PV): Looks like a girl
Ohno (from PV): Looks like a girl
Sho (from PV): Not ugly but not good looking either. Plain.
My impressions now:
Jun: Beautiful like a portrait or statue but feel no sexual pull towards him.
Nino: Talented actor and songwriter but he has an attitude that sometimes makes me just want to smack him.
Aiba: Empty-headedness makes me want to be all big sister-like to him. And he always looks kakkoii in pictures. Two contrasting images that combine to make him attractive.
Ohno: Talent oozes out of every pore on his body. You can't help but to respect him. He's more than a triple-threat. He's a quintuple, sextuple, septuple, etc, etc-threat!
Sho: Oozes sex appeal out of every pore. Knowing that he went through with his education and graduated from university just adds to his appeal.
hEY ALL ARASHI fans! I LOVE SHO KUN! ! konichiwa! does anyone have any mago mago arashi with sho-kun in it? aahh! i really love sho kun and mago mago, so if anyone has it, PLZ!PLZ! i'll exchange a video with you! because i have A LOT of arashi videos! ok! matanee~ AZAS! _________________

if only it WERE a few seconds of delay...i'm glad that you have a computer thats one step down from godliness...but unfortunately, mine isn't. it wasn't so hard to just refresh the page once and have the images reset themselves to where they should be...but now there are so many huge gifs (MB-wise) that the gifs are actually obscuring posts completely as shown by my screencap. it has nothing to do with delay...the pages are finished loading! i had to refresh my browser several times just to get one of the thread pages to load properly. at a friend's suggestion, every time i come to the thread now, i set my browser to block all images so that i can at least read whats being posted. and frankly...i think its a rather important issue to ME...i'm sure if you had the same problem, you wouldn't be so ho-hum about it. but i shall take your kind suggestion into consideration......thank you for your concern
seppydude,
the movies that all the guys are in together are Pika*nchi, and Pika**nchi ...they are sorta the tale of these 5 friends who are very different from each other that all live in this same apartment building (kinda like housing projects)...the first movie is about how they all go out and get started on their paths in life...and the second one is about all of them coming back together to try and save the apartment building....its a bit more complicated than that, but i don't explain things very well

I feel the need to defend Battlegirlai's decision to write what she did in her sig. We all deal with lagging at one time or another but we put up with it because at least when the page finishes loading, we can sit back and enjoy what everyone posted, right?
But what if after the page has finished loading, you scroll down and find that an image has completely blocked the text of another post? And even after you refresh the page a few times, the same thing still happens? Or what if the page just freezes your computer and forces you to restart? I'd be pissed off too if something I once enjoyed suddenly became the source of so much frustration.
Yuna, I hope you don't feel that you are being targeted. It just so happened that the perfect example of what Battlegirlai sees after the page has finished loading involved your post covering someone else's.

thank you, pixie!
and indeed, it wasn't my intention to target anyone in particular...i apologize if it seemed that way. i made the screencap originally to show my friends what was happening (which is when i got the suggestion to block all images). it wasn't meant to point out anyone in particular
Yuna, i think several people have had the movies on their clubboxes...you might poke around and see if anyone still has it up. arwenna or reina might have it...

Yuna
The pic of Sho you use for your sig really cracks me up to no end! It's just so blatantly sexy! Sho-kun doesn't need to resort to porn-style poses to get us to drool all over him! We'll drool all over him no matter what he does! I find a mysterious smile so much more alluring than throwing open your shirt and essentially screaming "come get me." LOL, Sho-kun, what were you thinking?

As someone who sometimes get capped to dialup speed i can attest to the slowness of the page being loaded up. So normally I use Opera to screened out the images. As for Battlegirlai case, as we can see from the screencap it actually interfering with the ability to read the thread.
Anyway as ainangst mention on page 362, the mods do feel the large images/Sigs are affecting jdorama. To those who feel strongly about this, perhaps you can visit the thread and discuss the issue.

as much as I wish to add something to the 'what came to your mind when you first saw them'-topic, I can hardly remember....(I#m already senil at such a young *g* age.....^^)
I know that Gokusen was my first dorama with Jun, but I just saw the first ep, cuz I thought that the manga 8which i read first was way better and totally different!).
But I remember falling in love with Matsujun from the first sec on...when watching KwP!
He made me interested in Arashi (like most of us I guess )
I only remember that i wasn't too fond of ohno and Nino in the beginning, but now:
Ohno: very funny guy, love his 'umai' and his 'why is everybody laughing? did I just say something funny'-expression and as for
Nino: funny too, a little evil and his n no arashi's are the best! OMG HE CAN PLAY THE GUITAR!
btw: I used to mix up sho and ohno in the beginning...

yesterday while watching jun's perf once again i realized he's doing kind of a dance which reminds me of a male stripper dance, some part of it mind you and i have always had problems with keeping straight face while watching male striptease - it is just so totally un-sexy for me. that's my subjective opinion...
as for ai's problems - well, we are all here as some kind of comunity, some of us found friends here, some of us not yet, but we all come here to share and have fun. and i think that if someone is having hard time coming here because of such trivial thing as some of the sigs, especailly if it is impossible for her to change the way they are displayed, hey, is it really a problem to make smaller sigs for her, ESPECIALLY if they are gifs?
my first impressions - the very first glimpse of jun in kimi wa petto i thought he had a short face and i didn't like the way he was so over-active there. but as i finished watching the drama i obviously thought he was beautiful. and to my surprise, when i watched gokusen i realized he is simply a very good actor, being so genki in kwp and so reserved in gokusen.....
as for the rest of the boys... i ony remember i thought ohno was not too intelligent since he has those 'i'm not here' moments or he does the 'i-don't-understand-what-you're talking-about' face.
if only it WERE a few seconds of delay...i'm glad that you have a computer thats one step down from godliness...but unfortunately, mine isn't. it wasn't so hard to just refresh the page once and have the images reset themselves to where they should be...but now there are so many huge gifs (MB-wise) that the gifs are actually obscuring posts completely as shown by my screencap. it has nothing to do with delay...the pages are finished loading! i had to refresh my browser several times just to get one of the thread pages to load properly. at a friend's suggestion, every time i come to the thread now, i set my browser to block all images so that i can at least read whats being posted. and frankly...i think its a rather important issue to ME...i'm sure if you had the same problem, you wouldn't be so ho-hum about it. but i shall take your kind suggestion into consideration......thank you for your concern
Wow!, no need to defend yourself, I was just directing my comment about signatures, anigifs in general not specifically to you, althought it was your signature that cause the topic..and more specifically I was telling Yuna that she had no reason to worry about the pic...Anyways lag like that is more likely cause by the fact that you are running Mirc, 4 firefox browsers, 2 internet explorers, pdbox, AIM, Bittorrent, and windows media player simultaneously... Exactly how many Bytes of RAM do you have , cause running all those programs together will cause some serious lag issues, and it also sucks your bandwith, which makes your computer react slower... But disabling images was a good idea also

Oh, I never knew that Jun thought up the album's title! In fact, I've been wondering why it's called ONE since it's not their first album or anything like that. Is it to symbolize the strong bond between the Arashi members? Or is it because they finally get solos in this album?
Hm.... Just lemme quote u the interview
Quote:
Sho: Ah.. about the Album's name.. I think it's the best if we handed the time over to Jun who came up with it in the first place.
Nino: Ya... that's quite right
Aiba: right ^^
Jun: Hai! Eh... "One" desu ne.. This album's significance is that.. [suddenly Nino sticks up his hand and does a peace sign] this is the first time that we put our individual solo songs into an album. [then ohno here suddenly does the peace sign too] Considering this fact, I wanted to come up with a simple and understandable.. a title that everyone will understand at once. So then, on one hand it could show that it has all our solos, on the other hand it could represent the "us" in the present... the "us" in this summer. That's why we decided to use "One" as the title.
Nino: Wonderful.
Ohno: Wonderful.
[tons of "wonderful"s. Aiba claps. Sho joins in xDD *pauses* then Ohno.]
Jun: *tries to talk* So.. the focus of this album still is that our solos are included for the first time. You will be able to hear more (or feel more) about our five different characters from the CD. Well.. u can call that as a focus too. [== how come u have so many focus(es)] I really hope that everyone will listen to our solo songs.
Sho: Yup and last of all yoroshiku onegaishimasu.
[Nino bows]
Ohno: [sticks up one finger] Remember to listen to it! [Kite ne!]
[group laughs]

Re: Nino-Talk *runs* xDDD
I know him by ze Dork [*jumps* dork can be really cute too xDD] He's like a kid whom I always want to ruffle his hair Okie now I feel like those fat obaa-chans and squeezes air out of kids O_o.. Anyway.. I think he has a really cute personality n ish very talented.

First impressions (I knew their existence way back then, but didn't really fangurl for them ^^")
Aiba - Girly eyes
Nino - D-O-G.
Sho - muscle dude with massive kakkoii-vibes
Jun - The long hair dude with thick brows
Ohno - Dude with no neck.. something's funny about his hair O.o

About Sho, I saw that yesterday and I went EEK, YAH! His character is cute too
More info on n`~cƃN[o[ hachimitsu to kuro-ba (Honey and Clover)
On the 24th, Sakurai Sho (23) of a popular group, Arashi will be starring, by himself, for the first time as Takemoto Yuuta (Sakurai), a poor art college student sharing an apartment complex with other equally poor students, Mayama Takumi and Morita Shinobu. Because of their poverty, the guys often find it hard to get a decent meal on a day to day basis. Silver-haired Takemoto Yuuta is the youngest of the three characters who live in the apartment building. As a second year architecture student, he finally feels that he's settling into college life, but as his older friends near graduation, he finds himself worrying about what he wants to do or work as after college. Also a youth love story about unrequited love....

Sakurai Sho becomes a college student in his first independantly starring movie!
It is understood that on the 24th, Sakurai (23) of the popular group, Arashi, will be starring in the movie for the first time alone. It is based on cartoonist Chika Umino's popular comic"Honey and clover", having the same name as the original, about five men and women's love stories of youth that develop at a college. All five people dealing with the circumstances of unrequited love, and Sakurai performs as college student, Takemoto Yuuta, who has an awkward social position. The producer explains his appointment of Sho by saying that "The character is naive and worries, and even looks like him". Even Sakurai is enthusiastic, "We thought that we can create a work where the spirit and pain of gentle love in youth is experienced". Aoi Yuu (20), Iseya Yusuke (29) Kase Ryo (30), and Seki Megumi (19) are to unfold the love pattern with Sakurai. CM director Masahiro Takada (41) picks up the megaphone for the first time. It seems like it will become a refreshing romance movie by a fresh personnel. Opening to the public scheduled for next summer.
