Weighing in on the hair discussion: Yeah, Sho needs a cut. His hair these days is driving me nuts. I rewatched the Sakura Sake lives a little while ago and his hair looked sooo good then. Dark, shortish, big bangs. Yum. Or, as AjiKan said, the way he has it in ainangst's siggy is perfect (I swear, that's just about the hottest pic of Sho I've seen ) I think Aiba's hair is perfect (as usual) Nino's is cute (yet, somehow, a bit feminine looking? Like Natalie Imbruglia or something) and MatsuJun's is looking good. I like Ohno with his hair brushed up off his face best - makes his face look a bit more slender.

i love compliments on MY Sho...He's so HOT ne....ne....

I see them a lot on Yahoo Japan Auctions. You can use a deputy service such as rinkya.com to buy stuff off there since it's not very foreigner friendly.
Lol Baby_Pixie I thought the same thing when I saw that pic - Jun's an amputee!
i can't read japanese. so actually i can't even find the auction page in yahoo japan.

I tried to get online earlier, but college got in the way.
Anyways, Welcome here aino_hanako and thanks for the amazing wallpapers.
btw - you people have got an awful lot to say about the 'touchy/feeling' thing. I just say it's cos they're all really close friends....anyway, I find asian men more femine than european/american men overall. Which is why I like them more.

peachie724- oooh arigatou!! i'm gonna try and download it... maybe play around... *cough* when i'm... taking a break from problem sets and yeah, i got both jun collages!! and made one of them my background!! hontou ni arigatou
mikamoui- sho curses?! what song????
gacktsamaChachamaru- thanks for the lyrics... ^_^ i've been collecting them but a lot of them are hard to find
babie_pixie- i thought the EXACT same thing when i saw that picture with jun and nakama yukie hehehe
yamete_evie- thanks for all ur hard work in translating!!! ^_^ i still have yet to PM you what i wanna say to jun (soo stressed)... heh, there's no deadline, right? hmm, though i should probably write to jun ASAP- before the whole site gets clogged with too many messages
as for the whole touchy-feely thing... i wonder. i always thought that asians weren't as huggie and close with each other, as i grew up in a really white neighborhood in new york and most of my friends were white... we always hugged a lot and there was a whole lot of hand holding and running and doing everything together when we were young... but then with the few asian friends i had, it was never like that... ever. even the asian friends i had when i was, like, five. and also, within families, i also thought it was the same way-- like on TV shows (i used to watch seventh heaven a lot when i was younger, haha), the parents were always kissing and everything but then all the asian families i knew NEVER did that.
but girls do go crazy when arashi acts the way they do, so i think thats a reason. and i have some asian friends who read a LOT of fanfiction and stuff that has to do with guy-on-guy (but not gay) action... which i never really understood (then again ive never read it either), whereas my white friends think that that stuff is just gross. ehhh, who knows... i love arashi so their lil acts are cute to me
anyways, i never knew all that history (or even really thought about it) so thanks for all the info, minna! ^^

Hi minna, thank you all for answering my questions! ^__^ I didn't think I'd get so many replies... it's nice to have lots of elaborate answers like that. Hehe.
Well I guess I was mainly confused about the touchy feely thing because like Baby_Pixie said, I thought the Japanese didn't show any affection in public.. so it was confusing for me to see the Arashi boys so open about it. That and the fact that they just are really touchy-feely.
Yamete_evie as always, thanks for all the translations and your hard work! You rock!
Do that shit! Do that shit! Is shit a curse word? LOL!
I hate the way society has deemed certain words as "bad"...I think they should not be looked down upon, but more as descriptive adjectives...Sometimes I wonder why we still follow allow with the ignorant confines handed down from the same people who swore the Earth was flat............damn shit fuck Guess I went offtopic

gomen ne...i dont mean to sound patronizing....just thought i'd hand in my 2 cents...
@mikamoui: i can't say this for sure...but the curse words in america are different in other countries...like they don't have the same "bad" meanings...for example the F word, my nii chan's best friend *who works in japan occasionally and is japanese* said that ppl over there just say that word anytime...anywhere....and it's printed on tshirts and stuff....but the japanese ppl don't consider it a 'curse' word...to them, they think it's just an american trend. am i making sense? so i'm pretty sure when arashi curses in english they don't really mean it in a degrading way...*i HOPE they don't mean it in that way...*
@GacktSamaChachamaru: haha shit isn't really a curse word....it just sounds harsher than crap but they basically have the same meaning. it's like saying "kuso" when something goes wrong....demo...if sho chan were to sing that "do that shit! do that shit!" over here....i'm not sure if ppl would like it...especially since it's ultra degrading to women... but i'm sure sho chan didnt mean it that way ne?
but yeah i agree with you about the way society does that. especially since most of these words are used to express something...and it only has to be taken badly if it was directed at someone...but just saying it shouldn't mean anything...although i do try to refrain from sounding too vulgar though...
NEPOOH. back to the topic of arashi!
@KendoYuki: ne it's nice when ppl listen to you when you're talking about arashi ne? but i understand how you were confused about them being so open with their feelings...demo it shows how comfortable they are with each other and their fans ne?
@sawadasmile: you're welcome! haha yeah i know what you mean about your friends thinking arashi "touching" each other is gross...that's how my white friends used to be to...until i FIRMLY explained to them that they're just playing around. i'm glad you enjoyed the collages!
@ yamete_evie : arigatou for the karaokes once again! btw what program do you use to sub these? i would like to make one sometime...demo i don't know what program to use...
@dali OHnee chan and ryoko nee chan: i miss my onee chans! come back soon ne? momo chan misses your posts.
japanese ppl don't consider it a 'curse' word...to them, they think it's just an american trend.
I have noticed this. I see this in manga and in jdramas where English curse words (especially the middle finger) are used very liberally. Dang, Sho gettin' all ghetto. Do that shit.

So that's what he's saying. I never bothered to look the lyrics up - I always sing along with a lazy pronounciation of Arashi - "du 'rashi, du 'rashi" like French or something haha. I've noticed the restrictions on the word 'shit' have changed in recent years. You can hear people say it on TV here in Canada at all times of the day now so I guess it's passed from a naughty curse word to an acceptable one. (but, Peachie, I don't understand what you mean by saying 'shit' is degrading toward women?) Anyway, generally when singers/lyricists use curse words for no good reason it doesn't impress me much, but I don't think Japanese speakers would fully understand the connotations of such words, so it's OK by me. And like I said, I didn't even realize he was swearing anyway.
This is pretty far OT so I'm making it smaller. Skip over if you wanna stay Arashi-centric ^_^: Actually, I disagree that society shouldn't look harshly on some words, and I don't think negative views on certain words is just a holdover from more puritanical times. The meanings and connotations of these words are still the same. Fuck is still slang for sex, shit is still slang for excrement. That's why some people get offended by them.
It's good to have options. The polite way to say something, the familiar way to say something, the rude way, the offensive way, the childish way, the brainy way, blah blah blah. The words people choose to use, socially acceptible or not, show a lot about them, who they identify with, their backgrounds and how they regard the people around them.
So what's my point..um..if you have a polite way of saying things, you need an offensive way. A way that'll tick people off, make them uncomfortable or downright offend them. And for that you need the 'forbidden' attitude toward some words. It adds a lot of power to the language. K, I'll shut up now. ^_^
And now the real reason I started writing this post - to share some old Jr clips of our boys! [As far as I know] These are from the old Johnnys Jr program Music Jump.
Kamisen Performance A performance by Kamisen with appearances by Ohno and Sho (the other Arashi guys may have been in there somewhere too but I didn't see them)
Tsubasa on Trial 16 year old Jun shows up in this one.
