ooooh. comparisons on MG and HYD?? honestly, i think the japanese one is already a LOT better than MG. first off, the acting is a LOT better in HYD. and second, the cast is better looking. well. ok. jun is better looking than jerry. i mean... jerry's just soooo... there's something wrong in the nose and mouth area i just can't... okok. the clothing in HYD is soooo much nicer. i mean, hello. those clothes are hot on jun et all.
not a huge fan of barbie... is anyone else dissapointed zai zai's with her?? i'm sorry. that's just not right. she's a HORRIBLE actress i agree, but she's still pretty. tho, i love Inoue Mao to bits!! she's too cute. i think she's pretty... and i thought that the manga character was as well. when the drawings became nice. but yea. she's a much better actress.
and then there's zai zai vs. oguri... i can't choose between them. i'm sorry. i love them both. so i can't be dissing my boys

that girl who compared MG and HYD obviously is biased and has no arguments worth saying, she's just being stupid.
and i really love how HYD has slightly different situations than in the manga. it's really nice to see some changes, while in MG, almost everything was taken. it gets a bit boring after a while...
so that's all i have to say on the subject. i liked MG for some strange reason, but HYD is byfar a LOT better

i think that article is just plain full of s*it! really! i'm so over this whole MG or Tw F4 is better crap! How can someone even compare a finished drama to one that just came out 2 weeks ago or the synopsis. oh wow!

but really when you think about it, those two episodes just blew the whole MG away! seriously! once you start making alibis like, oh the tw f4 didn't have any acting experience, or it was a low budget drama, or they added an A-list actress, or calling the hyd casts "teenyboppers", i think it's a sign that you're in the losing team!

and just the way the casts were compared and contrasted, WTF?!!! too curly and oily hair? i didn't even know that was a factor for being the leader of f4. and the fact that he's shorter by...a nail... wow! no way! . and shun-kun is not hua ze lei? of course he's not portraying tw f4 idiot! he's portraying Rui! wtf?

i wish i can email the author and tell her my 2 cents. is she trying to ruin her name or something? hahaha! oh well, just gotta wait until the drama is over and the dvd is out! if MG came out in 2001 and it just got to me 4 years after, that's not "taking it by storm".

i'm just glad i got to watch MG so i know it'll never compare to the first 2 ep of hyd. i don't even need to finish it. just the 2 ep is all i need.

when i read that article that had the lousy MG and HYD comparison, i seriously ranted for an hour at the biased review. then i watched HYD2 again for the umpteenth time and had all the bad reviews erased from my brains. in conclusion, that review is not worth getting worked up over!

at the HYD official site, i've been reading the fan letters, on the whole it is very encouraging to note that they are getting very positive feedback barr 1 or 2 sourpusses. so if anyone of you are thinking of encouraging the cast, please do write to them.

I was surprised at first to know that Shun's acting as Rui coz i thought he's more to acting jovial roles like in Gokusen & Stand Up.
But aft seeing screencaps of him in HYD and watching e show, i was wowed over by how he portrays his character.

Having watched e Taiwan's version, i can say that she surpasses that taiwan actress. I think that e way e taiwan actress acted e character was abit fake aft watching how Inoue portrays it.
Inoue showed that a strong-willed girl will still have other feelings such as "scared", "sad", "beaten over" etc during that scene in e 2nd episode where she had to lick Jun's shoes.
Whereas that taiwan actress only showed her strong character throughout regardless of whether she's sad or scared etc..so it's abit fake to me.

Regarding that article,It's plainly biased.I like MG and Hana Yori dango for different reasons.HYD seems darker and Jun was really scary with his role as the leader.Jun can really act.

geez... some of the chinese sites/tw f4fan fans/chinese reports/etc... are far, far ruder and worse.

i mean some even go into details about everything they hate from the bone structure of jun's head (!! to the point of evaluating his dental history ), obviously their height (critisizing that johnny made the boys do 'acrobatics' when young so stunting the growth of the boys... ), their skinniness, domyoji's mom's eyebrows, to near scene by scene bashings to hatred for the japanese, 2nd world war, nanking butchery, etc...

ok, i'm already pretty immune to those nasty reports actually, after reading some of the most extreme ones... now i just lmao at most of them!

anyway, good news is that, although these asses puffed and bitched about jun and hyd at first (mostly before it even aired - just at photographs ), some viewers are already starting to change their minds.

eg. a few chinese viewers already stand out to admit that after watching ep2, there're warming up to domyoji and rui much, much more, even when they DID critisize them before.
some who never heard of jun before and who thought he looks damn 'disappointing' at the beginning of the 1st ep are now on their way to being their fans after ep 2. they've been asking around for more of his dramas and info...

so i believe that true talent will earn true respect at the end of the day.
the more so in contrast with all the nasty articles written about them before.
in the end, everyone will just look back at those articles and spit on their writers.^^

Am I reading the same article as you guys? I don't really see what there is to get upset over. I didn't read anything in there that seemed blindly biased against the Japanese version nor blindly pro Meteor Garden (She did pick Naohito as the best Rui) It seems to me that it's just some random girl giving her own personal opinions, (and all she had to go on for the Japanese HYD drama was episode 1 - I myself was more impressed by the portrayals of the characters in episode 2 than in 1) It's not like it's a review by a professional critic who's opinion might actually count for something somewhere. So really, who cares if she didn't like Jun's hair or doesn't think Shun is hot?

The thing I found irritating was the encouragment of the idea that there has to be a competition between MG and HYD and between the 2 F4s. They say "It is still too early to tell if Japan's F4 can outdo Taiwan's F4" Outdo them at what exactly?

But wha? Is there really a Taiwan wave in Japan right now?

That New Paper article about HYD is so damn bias! I think they purposely chose a one-sided account, in the case of the girl who reviewed (who seems to be the tw F4 fan). The account was so exaggerated.

But heck with the article, I think Japan's version of HYD still rocks the best! I watched episode 2 yesterday and it blown me away somehow. I can't wait for the 3rd episode!
