I think Fukado is a GREAT actor.... After all what do we want from an actor. The camera loves her. And when she gets that quizical expression on her face it's a priceless moment.....
Do we just want to be critics automatically dissing anything and everything that is not as boring as an old English drawing room drama... or do we want the entertainment of charming actors that arouse all our emotions often just by seeing them. That is Fukada's greatness and why she is an A list actor and why she has so many credits... For those of us not immersed in the critic's mindless mindset, we enjoy her beauty, charm and the emotion she arouses in us... as for example in Friends, tell me truthfully did you not want and root for her to be reunited with her deep deep love or would you rather have watched a recital of several hundred Shakespeare sonnets?

But this is all a matter of perception. Kukada does NOT arouse my emotions the way she does yours. I strongly believe her acting isn't up to par with some of the other actresses I have experienced. It's fine if you think she's grand! Therefore it should be fine if some others don't agree.
And also, you (and others) seem to stress her beauty more. If she wasn't as cute as she is, would you still love her as much?
And just to hammer the nail a bit more, I LOVE Shakespeare. After all, my English degree specialist is in Shakespeare and I would die to hear an effective recital of sonnets any day. See? Personal perferences and perceptions. _________________

Absolutely correct. She is definiitely a man's actor.... I often think of her as a Japanese Marilyn Monroe. Perhaps not up to Shakespeare but such a delight to watch (for a man).
Maybe Shakespearean sonnets was the wrong comparison... just the first thing that came to my mind...(freudian slip?)

To be honest, I haven't seen any of Kyoko-chan's work. But I now have the Ringu 2 movie, which she appears in, so I will have an opinion after I watch that

It's cause we seem to be mentally linked sometimes. So you prolly thought Shakespeare cause Shakespeare has been on my mind lately. _________________
maybe the lack of being a dynamic actress, but she does have some acting skills. Others on here obviously think she is not among the top actresses, and do not think favorably of her. To each his or her own. They have a right for their opinions. I have mine. I like Kyoko, and I think she is an amazing woman, but i do have to say she lacks the depth, dynamic acting ability that is depicted with other actresses i have seen. I felt her singing career could have taken off more, and i thought she was ok in singing. But in modeling, she is such a babe, and has the look, but again, that is my opinion, as others may disagree with that, but it's fine with me.
I don't get why people bash her in particular. I mean there are many actors out there that suck. Everyone is entitled to an opinion about her acting, but ridiculing her physical appearance is just wrong.
I recently watched Remote, and To Heart, and I really enjoyed her acting in them, especially in Remote.
I may sometimes bomb on her acting. Don't get me wrong, i don't dislike her at all. In fact she was once, my favourite gravure idol i bought her Singles, posters and some dramas (Kamisama Mou Sukoshi Dake, Imagine, Food Fight and Fighting Girl). But i feel her acting was just "a bit below average" in some of her dramas, err.. like her expression was the same in every scenes or she can't express/act out the feel of that role. i can't help but keep on getting the feeling of "she's still acting the same old kawaii face in this drama, no improvement". But i may also think that it was her company/manager's fault of always choosing the wrong drama/role for her. Overall. she was still pretty and simply irresistible. i like her Lolita look in Kamikaze Girls _________________

I understand what you mean. I mean the roles she gets, and her acting is a bit on the well.... lets just saw it isn't Oscar material. I haven't seen her in many dramas, maybe that's why I see the reptition in her acting. I do want to see more of her drama though.
I just thought some people were being rude by making fun of her physical appearance.
@Kurisutiin05
As for what she's doing now.... well I know she is starring in a new drama called Yama Onna Kabe Onna with Itoh Misaki. It's starting July 5.
She also has a drama called, Kimi ga Kureta Natsu starting August 18. Kyoko is starring with Takizawa Hideaki. This drama special is based on the story by Yamazaki Toshiko entitled "Ganbareba, Shiawase ni Nareru Yo". It is about a young couple who discovers that their five-year-old son is sick with cancer. I don't see why people would make fun of her physical appearance, she's quite good looking. She doesn't have the starvin' marvin look, but there's nothing wrong with that.
I do love her calendars. They are always stylish. Probably one of the few artist that spends lots of time on that. All the other ones I have, compared to hers, looks like they were done between breakfast and brunch.

Love that one too. It's like this role was written for her. _________________

She's making the most of her "assets" She is very attractive, and nice and curvy even if her acting is so-so.
Here's a pic of her at the "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" premier in Tokyo. I like the dress, but the hat.... that's a different story.....
