hmmm....I have been watched lot of dorama such as : all kimutaku's dorama, stand up, gokusen 1 & 2, fire boys, neverland, GTO, Beach boys, etc...etc...etc... but I reccmended to all that must watch are billion stars in the sky, Pride, gokusen, engine.....but all kimutaku's dorama are must watch for me though

I just finished watching the live action Hana Yori Dango...I fell in love with it!
I'm a long time anime addict but that was my first J-drama.
So my question to you guys is do you know anything that has a similar storyline/backdrop? (HIghschool love/COmedy?)

For High School comedy, I think GTO. romance/comedy maybe Orange Days (it's college/Uni though, not High School). Another one is koukou_kyoushi_2003, high school romance (not really a comedy, a bit serious )

If your new to dramas, I would go with the top 50list for a while and try different main leads. (I do not know if you could watch all of the Kimura dramas in a row.) This will give you a flavor for what you like. I also enjoy mixing up old and new - I always try to watch at least one drama a season.
For high school dramas, I love Gokusen, GTO, HYD for sure!

[great, but some part annoying... but the story is nice, not usual. loved the end]

[just for kimutaku, it was all right]
love generation
[my first and favorite drama ever]
long vacation
[haven't yet watch the last episode but it was all right, but the thing is there's no real difference between this and love generation, and definitely i prefer love gene...]

[i really really loved it and i recommand to all... it has changed my life... they are acting so well, i didn't know the boy was from jpop group... the girl is acting perfectly. IF YOU DON'T CRY WHILE WATCHING IT, YOU'RE DEFINITELY AN ALIEN!! (and moreover, without heart!)
gokusen
[really great drama, i loved it, i met matsujun here for the first time, acting well, it's at the same time sometimes funny and sad ^^]
nobuta wo produce
[the last drama i've seen. really good one, the guy from NeWS is acting really really well and he's funny! shuuji (kamenashi from KAT-TUN) is really a pretty guy, acting well, and the story is good too! i was just disappointed for the end... shame there's no continuation...

watched kimi wa petto already. quite a long time ago. but i had fun. kawaii matsujun. the plot was a bit absurd, but it was fine. (i mean, why'd you make a guy your pet dog? tell me...)
btw, juppi, you didn't watch gto? it was cool. it started it all for me. you get to see oguri shun being bullied. haha. he was small then. and finish gokusen2! you can just fast forward the yankumi-to-the-rescue scenes. i just drooled over kame and jin. hehe. _________________
