i have seriously enjoyed:

Hotelier (maybe just because of Aya and Aya`s long hair *droolz)
GTO (sooooooooooo funny)
Elite Yankee Saburo (again, sooooooooo funny)

i like comedy but i also like it with a fair mix of romance also.

I can recommend Ima Ai Ni Yukimatsu - the drama. (There's also a movie, but I haven't seen it yet.) It isn't loaded with a lot of supernatural elements....well I suppose it is. The supernatural element really becomes apparent in the last episode when the "twist" is revealed. I suppose it depends specifically on what you mean by "fantasy".

I love this drama. I recommend it to anyone.

Long Love Letter...more sci-fi than supernatural/fantasy, but an intriguing work...certainly lots of star power...

I have to agree completely with uhno...Ima Ai is a must see...Mimura in her finest performance... (where has she gone?)...the movie is also wonderful...Mimura and Takeuchi Yuko playing the same role, is this not heaven?

I recommend Ame to Yume no ato ni and Chakushin Ari. The former is more of a family drama (to a point) with eerie moments, the latter is more of a suspense horror type.

Hi there...seems like my first post should've been here. Well, sorry for that....now I hope my second post is gonna be in the wright thread. Smile

I'm looking for some recommendations. I've watched doramas some years ago and intend to do so again now. Smile Back then I had been very much into easy going doramas with a light sense of humour like "Good Luck" and "Strawberry on a Shortcake". There was also a series about a motorbiking haircutter who fell in love with a librarian in a wheelchair...unfortunately I cannot remember the name (but the main character was the same guy as in Good Luck I think).
Well, recently I saw the first episode of "Kekkon Dekinai Otoko" and it was really fun. So, I'm looking for series' like that.

Can anyone recommend me some nice, funny, easy going doramas like those? Smile

Thanks in advance Smile

That's Beautiful Life and you're right Kimura is the lead actor, but it's definitely not light and easygoing.

You said it. I found it way too heavy.

@ BonesMC - how about My Boss My Hero? You might have seen it's mentioned a lot on this thread. A very fun, light drama.

Also Densha Otoko (Train Man). It's fast=paced, but very funny.

There's Kuitan - if you like lots of food talk. Mr Green

I'd say to keep with Kekkon Dekinai Otoko too, as the quality is consistenly good all through the series. Big Grin

@gaijin&Keps: Thanks a lot for your responses. Smile And of course you're right....Beautiful Life wasn't THAT easy going (especially at the end) but I somehow have on mind that there were some funny scenes with Kimura. Or not? Hmm...can't remember very well...

Thanks for the recommendations....looks like both, My Boss my Hero and TrainMan seem to be kinda funny. I think I will check them out and stick to Kekkon Dekinai Otoko, too. Smile

has anyone seen "kizarazu cats eye"? my friend's japanese gf said it's a nice dorama...so maybe someone knows something about it. Smile

      Hey guys.

I just found out that the brilliant green sang "Sono SUPIIDO de" for this drama called "Over Time". I checked it and found out that Sorimachi Takashi's in it.

Is it any good? Is anyone willing to recommend it?

Yes, I found the drama very enjoyable. Sorimachi and Esumi Makiko were a great pairing and the supporting cast was also well cast. This is more classical dorama in that it was typical of the doramas of the 1990s. If you enjoyed Long Vacation, Love Generation and the like you will likely enjoy Overtime as well. It was a drama that felt more geniune in that the characters were more real...more human, and less hyperbole.

I do have my criticisms of the show as do others that also liked it but I won't spoil anything for you. Go for it. As cheesy as it may sound, the dorama felt like you were really peering into the lives of this group of ppl living in the big city of Tokyo.
