hi everyone! before i was into korean dramas but now im really hooked on japanese dramas. so far i've only seen Hana Yori Dango(Season 1&2), Hanazakari no Kimitachi e(Hana Kimi for short) and Nodame Cantabile(Live).

im looking for other japanese dramas that i can watch just like the 3 dramas i've mentioned. i want romantic dramas just like Hana Yori Dango. funny and romantic would be fine too just like Hana Kimi and Nodame Canatabile.

im not into the likes of Gokusen since it's not a romantic drama at all. thanks in advance!!

hmm, funny and romantic...
well, i would recommend:
H2 (school setting/baseball; a but funny and a bit drama)
Star no Koi

i've clicked it. and it reminds me of Aeon Flux hehe Beaten

That picture is like a direct copy from the movie poster of Aeon Flux... But The Negotiator has nothing to do with Aeon Flux and is set in the modern world, not the future... Smile

hi there! thank you so much for your recommendations ^_^

about H2 the reviews were great but some say that it's not romantic at all..

Star no Koi is it the same with Sutaa no Koi? based from the reviews i think i will like this one. does it have english subtitles already?

about the picture that you have, is that a japanese drama? it says "winner of 9 TV academy awards" it must be great! what's the title of that and what's the story about?

to all you guys out there please keep your suggestions coming about your recommendations on romantic japanese dramas ^_^

ur welcome...

On H2, if i remember correctly there should be some romantic scenes since it has a love triangle plot...

yes, star no koi is sutaa no koi... and yes, it has subtitles

the sig i have is for 'Sekai no Chuushin de ai o sakebu'. Its definitely a romance drama, not much comedy except for the first 2 or 3 eps...

you should tyr checking out the Top 50 dramas. Although, the ratings are sometimes skewed due to popular artists, its still a good place to start...

i've only seen one. although gay is not the theme, but it does have a really sweet gay relationship in it.

But... the thing is, it's a spoiler. so i'm going to put the dorama title in spoiler tags. you decide whether you wanna know the title or not. it might take the fun out. i've warned you Smile

what kind of romantic do you like?

Love Revolution i think is very romantic. in a mature kind of way. Not the teenage role Hana Yori Dango romantic! Love is always the topic in this dorama. Which i think some people thought was too much and made them not like it. But if you see the reviews for this dorama, you'll see how people really like it Smile

Beaten don't they get sued for that. Ryoko-san is showing her age though... not in a bad way of course Smile

somehow i have a feeling the character is going to be somewhat similar to Shinohara Ryoko's in Unfair.

i suggest...
...hotaru no hikari
...yamada taro monogatari
...my boss my hero
...hana kimi
...nobuta wo produce
...nodame cantabile
...proposal daisakusen (not sure of the name, though)

...they're not ranked in order of my choice though but i found them funny and interesting but as for love story watch love revolution...Smile hope you'll not be disappointed with my suggestions though...Smile

Not very likely... Besides, it's just the look, not the title of the movie or the story...

Why do you say that? Head Scratch

She's younger than Shinohara Ryoko, y'know...

One of my friends is semi-interested in checking out a Jdrama. She wants something on the romantic, cute side with a happy ending. I don't think she'd be interested in an overly silly drama (that means no HYD). So far, I have Long Vacation and possibly Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta Koto in mind, but I'm open to other suggestions if there are any.

Orange Days? i've never seen Oshiette Kureta Koto but it looks similar to Orange Days.

maybe she might not like old doramas, but i think nothing can go wrong with Long Vacation Beaten

^ Orange Days may be good. I saw it a while back, but I forgot if it was good or not. Thanks for the suggestion!

Any others?
