Hi everyone.
I'm new to this site and pretty noob to jdramas. The one's I watched have mostly been manga-turned-dramas and I found that I really like them. I like to compare the original manga to the direction of the drama.

So of the ones I've seen are:
Zettai Kareshi
One Pound Gospel
Kimi wa Petto
Gokusen 1/2
Hanakimi

I've also seen Yoiko no Mikata, Stand UP!!, Orange Days, and Kisarazu Cat's Eye. I realize I tend to watch drama's with Johnny's member's in them...

I watch them very quickly so I need some new ones! Can anyone please help?
Thanks! Smile

If you like the type of manga adapted into drama types watch

Nodame Cantabile
Hotaru no Hikari
Bambino
H2

Hi Lochly w00t!
not a drama but a movie starring Nino, Ao no Hono...
Nobuta wo Produce is good too. Antique Cake shop have yummy cakes with delicious Abe Hiroshi and young Takizawa. I would also recommend Osen.
For something different and sophisticated try Yasashii Jikan & Haikei Chichiuesama (NINO!!!).

I'll have to look those last one's up. I haven't heard of them Bleah I just started Ganbatte Ikimasshoi and so far, I'm enjoying it.

But can ANYONE help me find 'Attention Please'? I'm dying to watch it but I can't find anything but raws... Sad

Hi new user here. Ive watched Hana Kimi and Nodame, and I was wondering if there are other comedies that have exaggerated action such as these that you would be able to suggest. My friend likes to call them "live action animes" haha. Thanks in advance.

My Boss My Hero. Nagase Tomoya acting style is like "live action animes" and it had him flying from one building to the next just for pudding. Great stuff.

@Lochly: if you miss Uchi in Gambatte Ikimasho, check him out in Osen.
hrmm.. i personally don't recommend Attention Please though.. not that its bad but not a drama I would have my time wasted on with lots of other great options available. If you are looking for an airline themed drama, "Good Luck" would be a better choice. Or if you are looking for Ryo Nishikido fix, "1 litre of Tears" is HIGHLY recommended.

Its weird that I like Ueto Aya but can't seem to like any of her dramas, except for "Namida o Fuite".

Maybe because she's more of a singer than an actress.

Not really. She sucks at singing too. All that she probably has for her are her looks. Beaten

ok.. she's mighty cute with that smile and very pleasing demeanor.
she should stick with doing cms ONLY. her cuteness will not come off as annoying within a 30 second clip. Beaten

I listened to her "Best of..." album on the way to San Diego and back (I live in Orange County, Ca.) last Sunday and enjoyed it a lot. Her doramas are sub par. All seem the same... underestimated girl overcomes great odds because one person sees great potential in her. All the same, wether she is a stewardess, plays volleyball, tennis, practices law, etc. Still, she cries very well on camera.

A new one that is pretty fun is Yasuko To Kenji. I'm enjoying that as they come out.

Hey,

Normally I research things myself BUT there are so many JDramas I've no idea where to start. I don't know whether I can ask you where I can view them (though I'm sure I could find out) but I was wondering what dramas would be a good place to start? I've never watched any..No tear-jerkers or depressing ones at the moment though as recently I seem to be reading sad books and watching depressing films..I need something a bit lighter! So comedy, or ones that are just so unbelievable they're funny, would be welcomed. Don't mind a good bit of romance either..

Thanks a lot

edit: Oh, and obviously ones that do fall into the drama genre are welcome too ha. Sorry.

edit 2: HA just checked out the silentregrets site that was linked above and the first one I clicked on..a boxer falls for a nun?! 1 Pound no Fukuin? Haa I think I'll enjoy these dramas.

edit 3: Ok I should have read more before posting. I can see a list of the top 50 rated dramas which will be a good start, but are there ones on there that I should definitely watch, or ones that aren't on there? Thanks. Again.

Can anyone suggest some dramas dealing with lawyers, preferably something to do with their day-to-day life or court room trials. I don't mind them being comedies but hopefully they have at least a little seriousness in them. Basically I am looking for dramas along the lines of Hero (I've already seen this so please don't recommend it).

Thanks!
