Hey guys! I've just finished Mr Brain and was so bored that I forced myself to watch through Atashinchi no Danshi (no offence to Maki fans but it's the plot that's rather far-fetched LOL).
Anybody can recommend any good dramas in recent times? I'm interested in...
Kiina? Similar to Galileo but I still prefer Galileo. I actually can predict some plots here and there for Kiina.
Yeah, I watched Atashinchi no Danshi and it really took me days to finish it. ><
High school drama: Akai Ito. Tells stories of teenagers who are facing problems in the modern society now. From love to drugs.

There's Voice! It's been subbed by TimeLessSubs & GIriGiri. I've only seen the first 2 episodes, but it seems pretty good.

Hi, I'm new to this board. Hoorah.
Since this recommendation is already 229 pages long, it gets really tedious scanning to every bit of 'em just looking for dramatic romance and-the-likes movie out there. Something like Taiyou no Uta which is something I have watched recently. Thanks for the recommendations everyone
Also, anyone knows where I could probably find a subbed version of Hachigatsu no Christmas? The one featuring Yamazaki Masayoshi. Thanks a bunch!

There were lots of great dramatic romance series in the 90s, try some of the ones written by Kitagawa Eriko.
Beautiful Life, Orange Days, Long Vacation, and Say you love me are probably the pick of the bunch.
Other really well-known ones include Love Generation, Tokyo Love Story, Majo no jouken, Mahiru no Tsuki, etc.
If you haven't seen it already, One Litre of Tears is similar to Taiyou no Uta in that they both starred Sawajiri Erika, whose character both had terminal illness.

I've been major busy and fell out of watching J-dorama and was wondering what was good and trolled through the pages nad got loads of recommendations! _________________
Hey guys. A while back I had a question about dramas featuring izakaya/nightlife and your replies really helped me out, so thanks a lot. I have another question now, and I'm sorry if somewhere in the past 200+ pages it's been addressed, but I was wondering if anyone knew of serious/dark mysteries similar to Suna no Utsuwa, or if that's just a one of a kind. I've watched a lot of dramas, but am in the mood for something mature/dark right now. Even something along the lines of Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi would do. Many thanks in advance.
While the series, which is longer than your typical renzoku, is ostensibly about doctors at a university hospital, the real focus is less on the operations and more on the Machiavellian machinations present in the medical profession and how the politics of medicine affect not only the health care professionals and their patients, but the families of both groups as well. I mentioned on previous posts that this series is very much like a Shakespearean tragedy, not only in content but also in quality.
Don't know how familiar you are with Japanese actors/actresses, but the large ensemble cast, from the principals to the supporting players, is top-notch with a number of talented experienced performers.
What did you choose to watch/What kind of dramas are you interested in?

I'm gonna restart with Nodame, My Boss My Hero, Hanakimi (I've seen a few episodes already) Hanadan 2 (am watching this more cause I am obsessed with HYD, but thought the first part was only so-so), Attention Please, Taiyo no Uta, Hotman, Galileo, Akai Ito, Rookies, Mui na renai, Kekkon dekinai otoko, Kuitan, Zettai Kareshi and Seigi no mikata....Might have to wait till I have some time off to watch em though! _________________
