Koori no sekai is a great show..keeps u guessing till the end
great performance from nanako in the show...and personally i thought Beauty or Beast is better than Good Luck. Majo no Jouken (witch's requirement) in which she starred across Hideaki Takizawa is quite good too....had me in tears...

Cheap love is quite dark and depressing, thought that there wasn't much chemistry between the Sorimachi and the female lead but I think it's worth a watch anyway because of the great storyline

yes... koori no sekai is a great show..
my guesses is always wrong throughout the show...LOL

Any recent J-dramas worth watching, oh and don't mention "Summer snow" to me, I have that on disc and will probably watch that whenever I have the time......


I'm also trying to look for a unique drama that is a bit different from some others. I have watched SOS and Star no Koi, most recently. My first J-drama is the always great GTO. I'm trying to see if there are any real big dramas from either 2002 or 2003.


I've heard that SMAP's recent single, "Sekai ni hitotsu dake no hana" came from a recent drama, can anyone confirm this? I'm willing to try out any kind of drama, whether it be of a historical setting or in modern-day Japan.

Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana was the theme song to "Boku no Ikiru Michi", starring one of the Smap members (Smembers), Kusanagi Tsuyoshi.

Different people have different taste. But since most people here love jdorama, i'll just give out the list of stuffs that i have watched and found them amusing. I'm a happy go lucky person so i love jdrama which are fun to watch or something that can make you wanting more of it. I'm not good in categorising this stuffs, so for the review or anything i think you can check the jdorama website. Among the famous drama are:
- Strawberry on the shortcake (Brother-daughter in law love story)
- Heaven cannot wait + Movie (One of my favorite. Slapstic comedy)
- Shomuni 1-3 (Power Office Girls. I've watched up to 2. Comedy)
- She is a newscaster (Anchor Woman. I think it's funny)
- GTO series + Special + Movie (One of my fav. Lotsa people love this one)
- To heart (Love story. Boxer and Kyoko Fukada)
- Good Luck (Pilot. Takuya Kimura and the insane girl from Battle Royal, Kou Shibasaki)
- Ice world (Detective type. Nanako Matsushima and Yutaka. A bit drag at the end)
- Summer Snow (Quite a nice love story, funny sometimes. Ryoko Hirosue and the Kinki guy)
- With Love (Internet love. With Yutaka and i dont know who girl. A bit drag at the end)
- Beautiful life (Tearjerker. Sad)
- Love generation (One of Takuya Kimura earlier famous dorama.)
- Long Vacation (Another Takuya Kimura as a poor piano teacher)
- Hero (Takuya again. this one is quite funny. Kimura as a lawyer)
- Love revolution (Love story)
- Antique (Hideaki takizawa in this one. Comedy. Quite funny)
- Forbidden Love (Innocent witch or majou no joken. Teacher- student love story. Hideaki and Nanako in this one)
- Yamato Nadeshiko (Nanako again)
- Salaryman Kintaro (Ex yakuza turn into a businessman. One of the GTO type)

Others that i like:
- Star struck (Love story between an actress and a tukey seller. Love this one)
- New son in lawa 2003 (Tomoya nagase and Noriko sakai. A famous singer married a widow and have to hide his idiotic identity from his fan)
- Tokyo love story (Hmm, about this one, pity that not much preety girls and handsome guy in this one)
- Pretty girl (Happy go lucky girl trying to save a departmetn store from going down the drain)
- Kindaichi series
- Perfect Bride (After marrying his husband, a girl have to move into her screw up in law family while her husband is working overseas)
- Big wing (About a happy go lucky ground attendant)
- Half Doctor (Another GTO type. Stupid gangster turn into a doctor. Fun in the earlier part but it becomes sadder as the series go on and on)

Others that I'm still looking for them, but not enough money to buy them, or heard that they are good:
- Eiji (Psychic student help a gorgeous policewoman solve crime)
- Beach boys (no idea)
- Trick
- Eko eko azarak

There are a lot more of jdrama out there and i'm still looking for the one worth to watch. The list above are all based on my taste so it doesnt mean that you people wil like it as well, but feel free to look out for those titles if you dunno what to watch.

I'm really interested in Eiji too. I've just got the season 2 from my friend, havent watched it yet but judging by the reviews on this site i'm pretty sure it will be good. I'm reading the manga now and i absolutely love it

Just finished watching 'boku dake no madonna' and I have to say, Haseagawa Kyoko is really really hot! And the storyline is funny too, a must see.

oh.... Eiji is really very nice!!! truly but personally feel that series 1 is better than 2. Series 2 is bit messy. Very interesting storyline ...

I've read all of Eiji's manga, funny and really dodgy. That's why i'm looking for the drama. Ok, added jdrama recommended by me. Just watched it recently:
- Hotman (Takashi Sorimachi as the big brother, taking care of all his siblings (from different father, same mom) and adopted 6 year old daughter. Family love story)
- He is my ex-boyfriend (Tsuyoshi kinki guy, ryoko hirosue. Triangle love story. Starts kinda slow, but start to pick up after the first episode. Some can guess teh ending though. Dont expect this one to be funny.)
- Gokusen (Cute Yukie Nakama as the female GTO. Nuff said)
- Stand up!! (I love this one. If you love dirty jokes, this is the one for you)

on a side note: hey tight satorare is pretty good... not GREAT but enjoyable none the less.. just don't hope for a specttacular ending... think of a hotman kind of endidng ...but it is worth watching.. just my 1 cent (not 2 cents cuz i'm broke and i'm trying to save my change ...i'm such a poor bastard)
