I hope so too Eve!!!

I saw Wilma's predicted path on the weather. I thought it was going to hit the lower part of FL. Sorry to hear that it is heading your way. Grumble

Eve, just make sure, if it's coming your way, to leave before everybody. You don't want to get stuck on the highway or out of gas like most people in the last 2 hurricanes. Good Luck!

There's at least a good news.
Wilma
Wilma briefly grew into a Category 5 storm before weakening to a Category 4 with maximum sustained winds of 145 mph.

The bad news:
Wilma is the record-tying 12th hurricane of the Atlantic season, the same number reached in 1969. Records have been kept since 1851.
On Monday, Wilma became the Atlantic hurricane season's 21st named storm, tying the record set in 1933 and exhausting the list of names for this year.
The six-month hurricane season does not end until Nov. 30. Any new storms would be named with letters from the Greek alphabet, starting with Alpha.

Pictures of Wilma Check that elephant. Awesome suction power. Bonk

I heard it had the lowest record barometric pressure in history. 850 millibars or something...Talk about Hoover suction. Nut

But I heard it will weaken to a Cat 2 or 3 by the time it makes landfall in Southern Florida. Fingers crossed

Hey everybody!!
Thanx for all the well wishes. Thanx!
Im pretty prepared already. Lots of candles etc,
I have plenty of emergency water for the horses, approx 500 gallons I'll be setting out. So even if power is out for a week Im still OK.
And I have a portable battery for jumpstarting a car. Thumbsup So I can recharge my laptop and watch dramas and anime Wink
during the worst of the weather. hehe hehe

It would be nice, but all the horse farm people head home rather than evacuate. All the horses want dinner no matter what the weather so we're stuck. It's fine though. Im about 40 miles off the coast. Winds didnt go above 80 mph at the worst last year and my place is pretty protected so Im thinking 50 mph was the worst on property, Not too bad. Sweat

Today was nice though. A cool morning turned into a summery afternoon in the low 90's. Big Grin

IMHO, it's probably the hardest full time job there is. No weekwends, no day off, no vacations. Bow

Hang in there!

it was kinda cold this morning ,felt like upper 40's, not sure, probably wasn't that cold here in NorCal.
but the heater was on in the house, it was that cold this morning, i already miss the summer like weather, plus up here in NorCal, it is about 5 to 10 degrees cooler usually. Bonk otherwise, during the day it is pleasant... hehe

I wish it were in the 60's in Hawaii. We won't see those kind of temps until January or February.
