That's high. There must be snow all the time at that altitude.

It's wierd, but for me Truckee sounds like a truck stop. ashamed Beaten

yeah, truckee sounds like a truck stop...not sure how far exactly that is from Donner Summit...maybe 20 or 30 miles, or less .....
but it gets cold in Truckee and Donner...
snow? not all year around, but during snow season yeap, and they can get hit hard with it sometimes....
great scenic views at vista point looking outward from Donner Summit, from the infamous Donner party in the 1800-1900's...thus the name.

add about 10 or 11 degrees to So-Cal temps, and you get basically the same....wtf is up with this weather...i guess this is more typical winter like temps.

The most extreme temperature change I've been through is -30C ~ -22F with almost 0 humidity tons of snow everywhere, then a 5 hours plane ride later 36C ~ 97F with 95% humidity. Good thing I'm not made of glass. Mr Green

We have had temps from the mid 20's up to the mid 80's this week.
Thats cold enough for me! Beaten
I think I might be made of glass. Big Grin

Bizarre.

Two days ago the temp here was in the low 80's.

Pollen from all the pine trees is everywhere. The whole area is coated in this thick green dust.

The plum tree behind my house thought spring had arrived, and blossumed like something in a movie.

Then wham! It's 30 degrees, they're talking about rain (please some rain! Anything to wash away this coat of pea green that's on everything) and saying there might be snow in the higher elevations.

I wish the world would just make up its damned mind!

yeah, weird swing of temps...and california usually has somewhat consistant temps incomparison to other parts of the US, and other areas in the world.
