Yada's absence has already been explained. Misuzu's character? No idea. But they do provide a good explanation of why Shima looks so different... apparently the span between Hotman 1 and 2 is 4 years + instead of what you'd expect (1 year) because Ryu is now in college whereas in the previous one he was just starting high school...

So the charatcer Shima is still gonna be in the drama even though some one else is playing her?

Yeah, but it makes since, I mean does a actor really want to play a 1st year highschool student??? plus he IS supposed to be a college student....Haiji is also in the same position too, right??

Haiji apparently chose not to go to college and is instead a "freeter", a freeloading part-time worker. Who is taking him in? No idea yet.

It's called acting. That's what they do. Japan, America and practically almost anywhere. The industry uses actors/actresses to play characters that may not be age fitting. Happens all the time. Wink

Well I mean that the actor must get tired from playing SUCH young roles, that it's a relief he gets to be a college student now...Haiji's working, lol, that's a hoot....

They may get tired of playing "such young roles". But remember, they could always turn it down if they wanted to.
No "scripts"? Just a consequence of preference.

Yeah, Haiji working??!! Hopefully he doesn't get in trouble again like the first Hotman. Haiji working is like my younger brother working.... Unheard of hehe hehe hehe

OK. Today, going to the rental store I saw more info on a poster of magazine pages (didn't catch the magazine name). As I guessed before, Karen Miyama is indeed going to play a classmate of Nanami (they're both billed as second-graders). Miho Shiraishi's character Ayame Otsuki is their teacher, meaning that most likely she'll be Enzo's new squeeze.

I noticed that compared to his role in Kids War Shota is less of a punk in Hotman, I kind of liked that attitude though, but it's cute to see him playing with the youngher girl playing Nanami...lol..

Read the article, kind of interesting, but I wonder about the person that wrote it. They said everyone split up at the end of Hotman 1, no one left home until the Hotman special last spring when Hinata went to medical school. I was real disappointed to see Konishi san is not in Hotman2, but I liked Shiroishi san in Orange Days, so I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Interesting... Episode 1 of Hotman 2 had a rating of 12.2%, LOWER than all the other episodes from the first season. Episode 4 from season 1 was previously the lowest at 12.7%.

Also on the Usenet newsgroups, the reviews of episode 1 range from mediocre to lousy.

Interesting... do they have the same team of writers from Hotman 1?
