Most of the music buying population in Japan are female, if you people have noticed. You can clearly tell everytime Laruku has a live, the majority of the fans are women. There were even several studies and surveys done on this topic too. However, I noticed that a huge percentage of Laruku's male fans are non-Japanese, ne? Hehe!

Haha it's true everybody, I'm a guy. You're all definitely right that female fans of Laruku are way more common but I still consider them my favorite band. First and foremost I love their music which is pure beauty and always creatively impressive but I can also recognize that yes they are all attractive and cool looking. I enjoy watching their fashion changes and I especially like watching them (especially hyde) change hair styles and sometimes copying them too haha. They are all also goofy and hilarious also so that makes me like them more.

Yeah, there seem to be few male L'Arc~en~Ciel fans, especially in Japan, but it isn't that one sided overall. I think that japanese males are mostly put off by L'Arc~en~Ciel, because they seem to be pushed quite heavily in Japanese media as a pretty-boy group for girls. While outside of Japan, there isn't that strong image attached to their music, and so we can focus on their music and not be biased so much by their image and public opinion. The difference can be pretty obvious when you compare a Japanese live performance, which has primarily a female audience, and their one US live performance, which has a much more well rounded audience. The same thing with the Hyde performances in America.
Hey I know this is off topic, but a few of you here i know are members of the L'arc en ciel Forum Dive to the Blue, well does anybody know what happened to it, becouse it has either gone or moved, if it has moved could i get the link please ? About more overseas male fans than female, I agree with shadowthrone. When I think of it, the first album that is officially released in overseas is Awake (the one they put their faces on the cover art for the first time in years, rmemembr?) , the album is pretty much designed for Laruku breaking through to the overseas. Coz it's a darker and more touch of rock of an album, if compared to SMILE. And the image they put on was the serious theme (i.e. war theme) and less lovey dovey theme.
So, I think that added the portion to why overseas male fans are just as much as (or more than) overseas male fans.
