i think that it is really AMAZING though how hyde can go from singing in his recent voice to his voice from his younger days.... like in the SHANGHAI tour, he can go back to the way he sang before and sing stuff like FORBIDDEN LOVER and those oldies^^......... i think now he just has to try a little harder to reach those notes....

Actually, that should be easy for him, as his range back then was not what it is now. He didn't have a very good sense of pitch in his younger days. The notes may have been high, but they were a forced high. Whereas songs like Jiyuu e no shotai and Hitomi no jyuunin feature highs that are far more natural and pitched correctly.
Whoever asked for the winter fall + snow drop + game on Pop Jam, according to my notepad, I have it. I just need to find it. ^_^ Gomen. If you do not mind waiting just a tiny bit longer...

i know he wasn't always a vocalist and that he sang for a little while with his band before l'arc en ciel... but hyde did not have any kind of vocal background did he? was he just a natural at singing? because in the really early days, his voice was really all over the place * i kinda liked that though* that's cool....^^ oh, yeah but i am kinda sad that he doesnt go for the high notes as much as he used to....

Yes, he did not have any training. And, I know that it sounds like his voice was all over the place, but truly it wasn't. It was just a lack of control, his range was not really very big early on. Some of those high notes were decieving as well. The highest notes Hyde has ever sung were actually in the songs Jiyuu e no shotai and Hitomi no jyuunin, and he didn't cheat to hit them.

Sorry I haven't been on here lately, I've been uber busy with uni. How have you guys been?
<back on topic>
I got some L'Arc~en~Ciel live DVD's yesterday and spent the whole day watching them. The people at the baltimore show were sooo lucky!!
I also heard that Hyde has a new album out. YAY!!!!!
Again, sorry I haven't been on lately, Whats been happening on the Larku front?
Hyde is simply the best vocalist ever (excluding the opera singers such as Pavarotti, ok so this is easy for him. But i can't believe he had never trained his voice to reach that level. There are some artists who do not train themself to sing, and in spite of that, they sing very well, but it's different because they always sound the same. Take monoral for exemple, it's typical american music (i know, it's a japanse band). The singer is good, but it's always sounds the same. Same thing for Placebo's... They naturally have a interesting voice.
I sing almost like Hyde and Gackt, and though i've never been taught to sing, i'm training myself for more than a year now to sing their songs. I can almost sing all of it, and trust me Jojyoshi (or something like that^^) is incredible HARD to sing. The first time i heard it, i was wondering if it was Ken who was singing the intro. It's so high. I must warm my voice for 1 hour to be able to "sing" that song. _________________

Random rant: I saw Laruku's AWAKE album being sold for S$7.90 at a cd shop near my house today. That is like US$4.85. Packaging looks like the normal editions, but it didn't seem like a pirated version though. But still,
i was wondering if it was Ken who was singing the intro. It's so high. I must warm my voice for 1 hour to be able to "sing" that song.
Hyde has a big range. I'm a girl and Jojoushi is absolutely perfect for my range, I love singing it. The lows are almost too low though, but I can get them. Absolute hardest song is Hitomi no Jyuunin from a technical standpoint.
Also, though Hyde never had any training most of his career, in the last couple of years, I read/heard him say that he was practicing now, which may imply he also has had a vocal coach. His voice now is just so much more natural, this is what I think.
I have had training (perhaps you can tell), it definitely helps you understand where you sound the best.
hi guys can someone pls upload Hyde's Shallow Sleep (jp) for me pls?
I lost all my pvs and mp3s when my hard disk crash, trying to recover most of my favorite songs now.
If its possible i would hope someone can upload Evergreen and Angel's Tales jp version as well.
Thanks!
