I Shared A Joint with Robert Mitchum
Of course, Mitchum's heirs might sue you. But what the hey, bad publicity is better than no publicity!! |
@ Ralph - Great memories, thanks for sharing! It was more than we hoped for but you painted such a vivid picture of those classic Hollywood icons. I only recognized about half the names (), but the stories were so fascinating. My fave was when you played chess with Bogey and football catch with Tony Curtis.
And yeah, Johnny Depp has consistently topped the Friendliest Celeb surveys, so hats off to him.

I knew Mitchum had gotten busted once.
Now I've got to dig around and see if I can find my copy of "Thunder Road" (the movie, not the Bruce Springsteen song)

I seem to recall he also attended parties with congressmen in Washington and he was kind of the life of the party. (which does not surprise me)

He always looked like he was living la vida loca - too cool for school.
Thanks for sharing all this memories Ralph!!!
I can only agree - I am quite unimpressed by the young Hollywood. Too perfect - too fake - too much of the same.
The worst celebs to meet IMHO are musicians. I met a lot of musicians in the 90ties, early 00ties because I had a sound engineer boyfriend and my sister sang in a band, which sometimes opened for bigger acts (ie with a record deal). A lot of them have no substance (groupies yeah, joint yippie, play guitar - repeat) and donLt evolve. When I was 19 I was impressed, when I was 24 I found them boring. And I always found it shocking that they tour the world but yet remained so ignorant.
