Live from the Sydney film festival... So due to an eff up, i ended up sitting at the disability section... Aka right by the door. At the end, the director guy was hanging by the door, I chatted him up and managed to snatch the director's autograph! And he got me yutaka's autograph! He is amazing!!!! Talk about being at the right place at the right time!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking for quite a while, but now I feel I want to know more about you...
N Arbr Fan: If you have time to check this site, how is your new baby? I hope you are all doing great!
To those lucky few who got to see Takenouchi san in Sydney: did he say anything about working on anything new, or is he taking some well-deserved time off? Does he look thin in real life? Give me details, please!

Hello fellow Yutaka lovers:
It's unreal, I actually stood next to him as he passed by my seat, our eyes met, I managed to shake his hand and he smiled but I was stupid because I forgot to ask him for his autograph. I was FROZEN where I stood for a while I think, then when I came to he was going out through the door already. This was after the screening of OBA, so anyway not too bad because there's still the next day when I will see him again for Honeymoon in Hell, I thought. But I could not reach him because my seat is second to last in the G row, so I just watched him talk to this Japanese lady in plunging neckline and she even got his autograph! She shared the autograph with us, so I had to content myself and take a picture of it. After that I felt really depressed because I wont see him in person ever again, I think. From what I heard from Japan film festival staff, there were 10,000 Japanese fans landed here in Sydney in hope of seeing him in person because in Japan he is surrounded by security when he goes out and he hardly go out for this reason.
Anyway I hope he will continue to give us beautiful dramas and movies for a long long long time, because I'll never get tire of him.
I will post photos soon, wait for it Newyork4ever.

Sorry but I was frozen where I stand, I was speechless. Yes, he is really thin in real life. He wore a black suit with white shirt and even with that, he didn't bulked up. I guess he really need this vacation, he said this is his second time in Sydney.
I hope the weather will be kind to him, plenty of sunshine, not rain. It worried me a little bit when I shook his hand because it was really cold, as if he was afraid of something. I wonder if he had bad experience in the past.

I was having a decent convo with the director dude until yutaka came out forthe Q&A session. Think he realized i was not a crazy fan just to see yutaka so he offered to get my oba book signed by him (I am a ww2 dork!)..basically yutaka was preparing to come out from the fire escape and director guy waved at me to come over and that's when I got my autograph... hence delaying his grand entrance by 2 mins! Yayyy!
I honestly heard some chicks snoring during the movie. Didn't bother withthe pictures cuz the congregating to the front was outta control. Yutaka was the size of a Lego man from where I was. I was also talking yt's assistant tho.
Looking at the YouTube vids it seems he looked super uncomfortable... The emcee was not the best she reminded me of a teacher in geography 101. I was told she is a dj I would assume she would be more engaging...Weird how she got picked to host. I was not too impressed.

Yutakalover, you are so lucky you got to shake his hand! I am jealous. I hope Takenouchi san has the chance to take a long vacation to somewhere warm and remote, where people don't know him. He seems like he has had a very difficult year, with a lot of work. I want him to have a good rest so he can be relaxed and happy.

Seeing a few of his vids from Sydney on YouTube. His English is pretty decent. Loved how he lost his thought on one of them! He was signing a few autographs during honeymoon in hell

Yutakalover:
Here is a quote from an interview he did in 2001 (I think) about Christmas: "Up till now, my most memorable Christmas was in Australia. At that time, it was summer and it gave me a different impression. So I was especially delighted."
I understand that in Japan, Christmas is more of a day to spend with your girlfriend/boyfriend or friends, not really a family day. I don't know if he has gone on vacation, but I hope so. We have been very spoiled this year, since he has been promoting many projects, so we have seen a lot of new photos. The spring dramas have been announced, and I haven't noticed that he will be in any. I will be waiting for any news of a new movie or drama.
As far as girlfriends, etc. goes, he did have a model girlfriend for a number of years, her name was Brenda, but that didn't work out -- she married someone else. Last year, he seemed to be engaged (from rumours I have read, and reading into some things he said in interviews), but that also seems to have been broken off (again, just from reading rumours). I hope he has better luck with love in the future -- maybe with one of us! ...Although, my husband will probably protest!

Hello New York Forever,
Happy New Year to you and to all Yutaka fans. I'm planning to go to Kyoto (my favourite city) in March/April for the Sakura Festival but I heard it is not safe in Japan at the moment, is this true?
I noticed this forum is dwindling, come on fellow Yutaka lovers, cheer up for our Number 1 Man! I wonder if theres new movie or drama for him in the future? I hope so or else we have to find him a producer or investor!

Congratulations to Takenouchi san on winning the Best Lead Actor in the 54th annual Blue Ribbon Awards in Japan. This is a very prestigious award in Japan, and is voted on by critics, not fans--so it is based on acting ability and not who is most popular. Apparently, this means he will be called upon to host the awards ceremony next year, so one of our Japanese fans will need to put it online for us!
Unfortunately, in the brief article I saw, Yutaka said he would like to concentrate on films from now on. I guess this will give him more opportunity to play different types of roles and test his acting abilities, but we will probably see him less often.
Yutakalover: Kyoto is definitely safe, if you are worried about radiation, etc. Tokyo and all the major tourist areas have normal levels. No worries! I hope you have a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful sakura blossoms.

Takenouchi Yutakafs performance in gOba: The Last Samuraih earned him the Best Starring Actor award this year.
He commented, gI canft believe that Ifm receiving the same award that was already won by so many incredible actors. I performed this role with the wish that people will never forget the spirit and the pride of the people that protected our country during the war.h
However, unlike Nagasaku (this year's host) he doesnft like the fact that he will have to host the ceremony next year. gI donft think I can do it,h he said. gI donft like to appear in public too much. Even now Ifm all tensed up.h

Yes, he is looking good lately. He seems to have got back up to his usual weight, and his hair is getting so long! The traces of Oba are finally disappearing.

Thank you so much for some news regarding our no.1 star, it's been a long time since I saw him last November. He looks healthy and older. But he must really suffer when in public because I remember shaking his hand and it was like ice!
So what movie is he going to do next? I hope it's love story with a happy ending, or action/romance. Does anyone know?[/img]
