Holla! I've been wanting to ask this long before... just wondering... what is the literal translation or meaning of the word GOKUSEN... im not japanese so just wondering if gokusen had something to do with teacher or something... i mean, what is its relation to the story? can anyone tell me? im currently watching part 1 of Ep 12... Ep11 made me cry... my grandma just died and i can realte to kuma's situation that's why... i decided to watch it on youtube coz i can't wait for the downloading to finish! it would take about a week or something to download 2 ep! Darn it! [/b]
I think it's a combination of the words 'goku', meaning 'the most' or 'extreme', and 'sensei' with means 'master' or 'teacher' in this case.
BTW please don't use red as the font colour in your whole message. Red works well to highlight important points but when used in a whole passage, it's irritating, even rude.

Yeah. I also watched Gokusen 2, to see what it was about. It's exactly the same thing. Boring.
i am not sure how many sequels do as well as the originals..
Kintaro season 2, probably didn't do as well as the first one...
the third and fourth season of that series really didn't recover and wasn't that good...
Gokusen2, i didn't watch the whole thing yet...but from viewing the first ep, it didn't seem the same...and lost a lot of it's dynamic and depth...i dunno, it just wasn't that good.

holla! i watched GOKUSEN 2! i didn't like the story... (what a surprise! ) so i only watched EP 4 coz the story is about my MOCOmichi! He's really kakkoi & a very good actor.. he could actually give jin & kame a run for their money! hehe... now i see why people always notice his "FAN"... i think its kinda cute when he waves it around.... and he's incredibly tall too huh? towering over the other casts... koike is cute... but he's TOO cute for me.. he's kinda feminine looking... i kinda liked kame's voice when i heard him sang KIZUNA... it was awesome.. love the song... _________________

To tell the truth the only one I don't like in Gokusen2 is Hayato. He's just like Shin, but not so cool. Ryu is okay and I like Takeda too.
And did you know that if we mix Ryu and Hayato we get Shin? _________________

Gokusen came from the words Gokudo no Sensei, literally meaning 'gangster teacher'. I don't think Yankumi is a gangster though
I haven't seen season 2, although I really want to because there are lot more bishounens there (than in Season 1, although it's unforgettable becuase of Ogurin ~! )!!! Do Yankumi's sudents still call her Yankumi there, or do they give her a different nickname?
And btw, in the dorama, who gave Yankumi her nick...was it Noda or Uchi? _________________
obentou: The word Yakuza means Japanese Maffia. So it can be, that Yankumi is a gangster. But she isn't evil like other gangsters in gangster movies. _________________

Season 2 is very very much like Season 1 - the plots are pretty much all repeated - the students still use her nickname Yankumi
i think they all sorta gave it to her? i remember them all saying it out at once _________________

yeah well in gokusen 2, i think only take (teppei's character) really calls her yankumi. most of them call her yamaguchi. though there was an instance where they all said yankumi. i think when she treated the class to ramen... correct me if i'm wrong. it's been a long time since i saw this. _________________

kasumi> SPOILER!!! They did not can keep the old characters, because they graduated in the Special.
Evil zai> You are right. Only Take called Kumiko Yankumi in the first time, and than when she invited them to eat ramen all of them called her Yankumi. That is right. But this was the only one time. _________________
