Well, she repented and needed him enough to follow him all the way to the Bronx, so why not? Better than leave her stranded in the big city with nowhere to go but back to Japan to an unhappy life going from man to man.

I was the guy that said I would marry Yoko Moriguchi after one date.
This was solely based on her role in YN
She was wise, smart, witty, and sexy IMO.
Yamato Nadeshiko also happens the be the greatest dorama I've ever seen.
The entire cast has to be commended for such fantastic cohesiveness as a whole.
While Wakaba was pretty, she seemed a little too submissive for Osuke... as in... Osuke NEEDED that kick in the ass from Sakurako to begin with to get his rusty gears in check.
Mariko-san was correct. Those two"opposite enders" (Jinno and Osuke) were perfect for each other. lol _________________

I disagree only because of opposite spectrum relationships I have dealt with personally.
the phrase "opposites attract" was the main theme of this story...
it is granted that Yukiko and Jinno were lookalikes... but Jinno and Osuke needed to learn lessons from one another. Jinno was sooooo hell bent on persuing her dreams and goals that she was totally oblivious to all others' feelings and presences.
Osuke, on the other hand, BECAUSE of his past failuresconsidered others ' feelings and perception of him TOO MUCH... so much that he lost all of his confidence in his gifts and was totally unable to place balance in his life for worrying about everyone else.
Wakaba loved Osuke. This is true. But Wakaba was no challenge to Osuke and would've accepted him at any stage in his life, seemingly.
The only problem with that was... Wakaba would've stayed with Osuke no matter what... and that 'matter' looked like an unfulfilling life at a fish shop, pinching pennies, and living while impoverished.
Osuke had potential to be so much more and the only one that challenged whatever pride he had left... was Sakurako.
On the other hand, Osuke was the only man she knew who would break through that armor and cold-hearted ambition that Jinno had placed in front of her... because of his heart and being so good-natured despite all negativity he had dealt with. _________________

i go by "like attracts like" for relationships...but i completely understand where you're goin...like how couples who are dissimilar should be more satisfied with their relationships because their differences (in personality or skills) are complementary. But realistically speaking, this is usually not so. Distress and dissatisfaction over finances, childrearing and time spent together tends to be much greater in "opposites attract" than in "like attracts like" relationships. People with a similar history, who grew up believing similar things and behaving in similar ways, have an easier time talking with each other. I feel that stubborn sakurako suddenly changing her main belief (hey! money isn't everything afterall) near the finish was done to forcefully make a relationship between her and osuke to exist. Or else, this would never have happened. That's why in the end, I found the characters in the drama to be very silly and unrealistic, resulting in me goin bonkers.

you mean... not likely to happen. The change in her beliefs was a very slow process... it developed from their first date, as Sakurako, NEVER would've kissed Osuke if she hadn'tve liked him to begin with. How do I know? Because she wouldn't even kiss Higashijyujyo! lol
It was a slow and tedious process that broke through little by little... until she was threatened with "losing him forever" (thinking he was going to die) in EP 10 did she fully realize how much fragile her emotions had become.
I agree that it's not bloody likely that such a thing would occur with most relationships in these jaded societies that we live in...
but I've witnessed some real life fairy tales that allowed me to enjoy this with a tear in my eye. _________________

Hi!!
This is my first post, and I'm so nervous!!
I started download Yamato Nadeshiko because in the webpage of Hayashi Kouki ( http://www.tanabe-agency.co.jp/talent/hayashikouki.html ), seems like he was in the dorama. But I have already download the first chapter and he is not in the cast section of this dorama... Somebody can help me?
Greetings from Spain...
