A friend of mine capped and sent me an ep of this wacky game contest. A game show where the participants must conquer the castle, but the job isn't easy as they face difficult obstacles during their journey!
a renowned Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano hosts the show! Ironically, all their names have been westernized, yet the names are silly! Kitano=Vic Romano Forgot to mention the horrible English voice overs, hehe.
Had a little glimpse of the show, I shall watch it tonight and will absolutely yearn for more

Gotta love the Japanese wacky shows!

it's meant to be funny. the writing is awesome on the american version.

and they show it here in channel 13

and some filipino actors seems like host the shows i think they were smokey and anjo

that's right. when the channel first showed it they didn't make use of those filipino actors though.

Watched the show last night! WOW!!! MORE So hilarious and entertainin! Silly script, hehe. LOL@ the participants!

We get Takeshi's Castle over here too. It's narrated by Craig Charles,from Red Dwarf fame. The show is mad and no one ever wins at the end. It's a very fun show. What year did it run from?

i think in the middle of the 90's

The show and its challenges seem almost impossible to win but that what makes it fun for people are enjoying the process rather then trying to get a hold of the prize. Some of the challenges are totally based on luck like the karaoke challenge where there throw a song at you and you are expected to sing it, too bad if you havn't heard the song before.
To my memory there are some instances where contestents have won but very rare.
Plus the games change from season to season which makes it more fun. They also had specials like beach, winter themes where they change their settings totally.
Finally the most memorable show I saw was the one where they had a costume theme and all the contestants had to wear costumes to participate in all the rugged games. The most startling part was a contestant dressed up in traditonal chinese zombie outfit and tried to jump(act the part) in one of the last stages which was crossing the suspended bridge. I was shocked because it is impossible to stand properly needless to say jump. I think he won that epsoide of takeshi's castle and in a special review of all their hit epsoides they voted the guy the most outstanding and gave him a car.
I wished they would show the reruns here. It would be good to laugh at the silly antics again.

lol i remember that show in PI too, those actors/hosts really killed it!~

We need more shows like this in america but i'm afraid only japanese people are THIS crazy Every time it comes on I instantly call my friend and we laugh our asses off together...

Hohohoo!!! I have watched 7 eps of the show. Very funny and enjoyable I guess I am little of a sadistic person, enjoyin and laughin at the participants gettin hurt and humiliated Very muddy and wet games, haha! Go Takeshi...hmm... Vic Romano go!

What do we always say in the end? Don't get eliminated!

The dubbed dialogue is damn funny! Though it'll be good to watch the show in its original context.

Some of the stunts are hilarious. Log drop is fun to watch lol. But sometimes it looks like they really got hit hard.

I got some episodes from kazaa before too.
