Announced today, Avex group, MAX will be performing in Texas at AnimeFest in September: http://www.animefest.org/ The concert will be on September 4th.

damn it.... COME TO SoCal. MAX why are the (majority of) groups still mostly doing anime convetions?... is it that they are unsure of wether or not they'll sell out clubs?

The Texas JPOP fans involved with AnimeFest were the first to work with Sony Music Japan and Avex to bring Japanese artists to anime cons. The first major non-anime event to bring Japanese performers was New York-Tokyo Music Festival which two people from the Texas con attended and conducted business/networked and thus.... the JPOP state of Texas.

The Texas folks have worked with other anime cons to bring Japanese artists.

The primary Texas person responsible for this is Chris Simonds who runs jpopusa.com and his hard work paid off with the release of Tofu Records first JPOP album which he is featured on the inside cover.

But don't fret...big things will be coming to California and NYC in the near future ^_-
