Note taken. I'm not a big wine drinker, but what are dessert wines regularly? Red or white? And what name? Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Cabernet?

Yup.
I thought they were trying synthetic corks, made of plastic or similar materials...

From Yahoo! Food:
7 Reasons to Drink Green Tea
Posted Tue, Feb 27, 2007, 11:54 am PST
The steady stream of good news about green tea is getting so hard to ignore that even java junkies are beginning to sip mugs of the deceptively delicate brew. You'd think the daily dose of disease-fighting, inflammation-squelching antioxidants - long linked with heart protection - would be enough incentive, but wait, there's more! Lots more.
CUT YOUR CANCER RISK
Several polyphenols - the potent antioxidants green tea's famous for - seem to help keep cancer cells from gaining a foothold in the body, by discouraging their growth and then squelching the creation of new blood vessels that tumors need to thrive. Study after study has found that people who regularly drink green tea reduce their risk of breast, stomach, esophagus, colon, and/or prostate cancer.
SOOTHE YOUR SKIN
Got a cut, scrape, or bite, and a little leftover green tea? Soak a cotton pad in it. The tea is a natural antiseptic that relieves itching and swelling. Try it on inflamed breakouts and blemishes, sunburns, even puffy eyelids. And that's not all. In the lab, green tea helps block sun-triggered skin cancer, whether you drink it or apply it directly to the skin - which is why you're seeing green tea in more and more sunscreens and moisturizers.
STEADY YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE
Having healthy blood pressure - meaning below 120/80 - is one thing. Keeping it that way is quite another. But people who sip just half a cup a day are almost 50 percent less likely to wind up with hypertension than non-drinkers. Credit goes to the polyphenols again (especially one known as ECGC). They help keep blood vessels from contracting and raising blood pressure.
PROTECT YOUR MEMORY, OR YOUR MOM'S
Green tea may also keep the brain from turning fuzzy. Getting-up-there adults who drink at least two cups a day are half as likely to develop cognitive problems as those who drink less. Why? It appears that the tea's big dose of antioxidants fights the free-radical damage to brain nerves seen in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
STAY YOUNG
The younger and healthier your arteries are, the younger and healthier you are. So fight plaque build-up in your blood vessels, which ups the risk of heart disease and stroke, adds years to your biological age (or RealAge), and saps your energy too. How much green tea does this vital job take? About 10 ounces a day, which also deters your body from absorbing artery-clogging fat and cholesterol.
LOSE WEIGHT
Oh yeah, one more thing. Turns out that green tea speeds up your body's calorie-burning process. In the every-little-bit-counts department, this is good news!

Doesn't the mint cancel out the good things in the green tea?

I was thinking the same thing. I drink my green tea straight. No sugar...no milk.

Hmm, I didn't think green tea had that much caffeine... |
To keep this topic in the correct thread I moved it here. I found this info on the amount of caffeine in green tea:
Does green tea contain caffeine?
Yes, green tea does contain caffeine. Caffeine content varies by the amount of tea used and the length of time the leaves are infused. All things being equal here is a breakdown of the caffeine content of green tea:
Percentage of caffeine in the following beverages:
Coffee- 0.05%
Black tea- 0.05%
Gyokuro- 0.02%
Sencha- 0.015%
Hoji cha- 0.008%
Genmai cha- 0.008%
Hyakunen cha- 0.001%
Green Tea has four important constituents that all work together, caffeine, tannin, essential oils and vitamins. Many people may be surprised to hear that caffeine can actually be beneficial when taken in tea as it works slightly differently from the caffeine in coffee. The good news is caffeine in tea can stimulate the circulation and metabolism via the central nervous system. As more oxygen is pumped to the brain, mental powers are heightened, reactions speed up and muscle function improves.
The tannin in the Green Tea works alongside the caffeine, having a relaxing and stabilising effect. This means the caffeine is absorbed more slowly and prevents that "caffeine shock" we all know too well from coffee.
Green tea contains L-theanine which counters many of the negative effects of caffeine.
L-theanine is a healthy amino acid that is only found in tea plants and certain mushrooms. L-theanine directly stimulates the production of alpha brain waves which promotes a state of relaxed awareness, it has a calming effect on the body without making one drowsy.
"There is a way of naturally removing caffeine and preserving the health benefits. Steep the tea for 45 seconds in hot water and then pour off the liquid. Next, add more hot water and steep as you normally would to brew a cup of that tea. Up to 80 percent of the caffeine is released in the first infusion of water so only minimal amounts will remain when you add water the second time. This method eliminates very little of the teafs flavor and aroma."
This quote is from Dr. Andrew Weil who gave us permission to print this excerpt from his web site. Dr. Weil is an internationally famous physician and an expert on integrative medicine.

Did you see the earlier post on reasons to drink green tea? |
Yes that is what made me look for the green tea capsules in the health food store. Thank you so much! Now that I have read this other info I may just start drinking the tea itself.

Yeah I have tasted it. It is very good! But according to wikipedia.org, as I posted below, Satay or Sate is NOT a beverage or drink. Jaegal_Maut you should have posted this in the "Food" thread, not the "Favorite Drink" one.
Although recipes and ingredients vary from country to country, satay generally consists of chunks or slices of meat on bamboo or coconut leaf spine skewers, which are grilled over a wood or charcoal fire.
