hehe Doesn't it?

Well, I went in a restaurant, last summer I think, and they had it for $2 or $3 more or less. There are a few counters in mall food court, but they don't have them. Only in restaurants. Perhaps only during summer. I had one in a restaurant, like 15 years ago, but I can't remember what it tasted like. Sweat Like most people, we used to do that only at home too.

Favorite drinks:

non alcoholic: Caffeine free diet coke (I know, it's sad without caffeine, but given how much I drink of it, this is probably a good thing).

alcoholic: I don't really drink alcohol aside from a Puerto Rican Christmas cocktail called Coquito (coconut, condensed milk, and rum). It makes eggnog look like a joke.

Interesting. Big Grin

For the pearl milk tea, is it available almost everywhere or just in a few shops? They are hard to find over here. Most coffee shops have smoothies, but no pearl tea.

It usually the case. Unless someone you go there in the beginning, it's just not that good as elsewhere, but more expansive. You end up leaving telling yourself, I'll never go there again, but they don't care, 'cause there are 1000s of people who'll do the same mistake. =T

Fruity cocktails count as health food, study finds

Thu Apr 19, 7:41 PM ET

A fruity cocktail may not only be fun to drink but may count as health food, U.S. and Thai researchers said on Thursday.

Adding ethanol -- the type of alcohol found in rum, vodka, tequila and other spirits -- boosted the antioxidant nutrients in strawberries and blackberries, the researchers found.

Any colored fruit might be made even more healthful with the addition of a splash of alcohol, they report in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture.

Dr. Korakot Chanjirakul and colleagues at Kasetsart University in Thailand and scientists at the U.S. Department of Agriculture stumbled upon their finding unexpectedly.

They were exploring ways to help keep strawberries fresh during storage. Treating the berries with alcohol increased in antioxidant capacity and free radical scavenging activity, they found.

Any colored fruit or vegetable is rich in antioxidants, which are chemicals that can cancel out the cell-damaging effects of compounds called free radicals.

Berries, for instance, contain compounds known as polyphenols and anthocyanins. People who eat more of these fruits and vegetables have a documented lower risk of cancer, heart disease and some neurological diseases.

The study did not address whether adding a little cocktail umbrella enhanced the effects.

I'll have a large strawberry margarita, please.... Beaten Big Grin

Interesting. I bet next week they'll say that alcohol slowly kills you. Sweat We better get drunk before they tell us otherwise.

I'm running to the gas station to fill myself up with ethanol fuel. Bleah

I really like the specification The study did not address whether adding a little cocktail umbrella enhanced the effects. rofl

I think the umbrella is the key.... Otherwise, the drink is completely useless. hehe

Yup. You can try to do it gradually, instead of going cold turkey.

Sometimes I put a little bit of lime juice in water. It almost tastes like 7up, but doesn't have all the sugar and calories. It's different than drinking just flavorless water all the time.
