I was wondering if many of you have friends or family members who flaunt their money around you. There are people who have money who don't purposely flaunt it but there are those who want to rub it in your face.
Had one friend who told me and other friends recently about going on a group trip and his thing was "it's too bad that you guys have to save your money. I can just go anywhere I want and you guys have to save for it, that's a shame!"
and he goes on... "I have so much money, sometimes I don't know what to do with it!"

My boss is like that. She tells us business is bad, and can't give us raises, then shows up for work in a brand new BMW 740i... Talk about a slap in the face.

and keeps going, and going and going....
Doesn't sound like much of a friend. If it were my friend, I'd dump on him/her for being insensitive.

I think people tend to do this if they have a low self-esteem, use their financial status as a way to make them look like the shite.
I haven't hung around him since that day but my other friends who do say they still get that from him.
Many of the Asian families and friends I grew up with are like that. If one group gets a nice house or a nice car, then the next group does it...my parents do it...and I dislike the facade because in the outside, it may look like the person has a lot of money but the truth is, they bought these things to make them look good and thus they put themselves in more debt.
Man...I'm such in a shietty mood.... work related.... (sigh)

When you graduate, it'll just be work, eat, and sleep. And NO summer vacation.
Only a two week vacation. --AFTER you payed your dues for one year.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. I know that all too well.
Not to diss, but a lot of the Koreans in Hawaii are like that.
And where I work, I see it all the time.
I know I'm always broke so I couldn't care less about "status" which is somehow measured by materialistic things. _________________

I notice that a lot of Koreans and Chinese, particularly the FOBs, are big on the materialism and putting up the "I got bucks" facade... And they cop that "I'm better than you" attitude as well... Really stinks.

That's totally true. and I hate that as well, as if they got nothing better to do..suck!

I agree with every single word that you have said and everyone else. My family isnt like that but I a lot of friends whose family act like they are competing.... the sad thing is that I got this one friend who isnt in the best financial position but they rock high quality stuff... like a benz, tag huer watch, stuff like that..... _________________
