Air conditioning is down in the whole building. It's so unbearable and was like being in a sauna, so my boss said for us to go home, so I'm just trying to cool down at home. HOT!

That's all it takes to get a free day off from work?! Do you get paid for the day? Where can I submit a resume? hehe

I got paid for the day too. Mr Green Not to mention, my boss also takes about 3 vacations a year and if it's a slow day, he takes the day off, leaving me to have to post on messageboards and things like that. It's a very hard job. Beaten I just hope he never retires because I'm really, really spoiled with this job. Sweat

Is he getting close to retiring?

I counted up my years and I think I can retire when I'm 52. Sweat Knowing me, I'll prolly work for as long as I can.

Yeah, he's at the retiring age, but I think he might hire someone else full time and just work part time. That would suck because I'm just used to having a lenient boss who's really mellow and forgiving when I do ditzy things. Beaten

our company is downsizing, which started late in Oct. This past week we lost 2 people in our group, and 2 others had their hours cut. I still have a job, but a lot of us wonder who's next.... Sweat

it sure is, and it all started with our head mgr getting dismissed on the spot, how humiliating to our fin/acct dept, its been a whirlwind, consolidation effort with tasks being moved around, and cutting corners.

The employee moral is hanging by a thread each day. If we can make it to the Holidays, it seems like a miracle, we just have to wait and see.
for now, we still have our jobs.....i guess we should be thankful, believe me, there are many of us that have lots to complain, but can really say nothing in these times of hardships.

You should collect her slime, i hear it's good for the skin. You could probably sell bottles of it on ebay for spending $$.

I'll mention it to her.

In that vein, I saw something on the news a couple of days where the Japanese are using refined bird droppings (nightingales?) as some kind of facial treatment... Sweat
