Well, it's working Bleah I think she's part-Asian: She has long, straight black hair and light brown skin. Combined with the white singlet top she's wearing today, it's a killer combo Smile

Ack, the recession has finally hit home: three people laid off and everyone gets a 4% cut in pay for an indeterminate time... Better than losing my job completely... Sweat Sweat Sweat

More so for the three who were laid off. Sweat

To rationalize it, it doesn't offset the raise I got four (five?) years ago... But I'm sure that argument is bogus, since the cost of living has surely gone up since then. Puppy Dog Eyes

Less sushi trips for lunch for the time being, I suppose. Puppy Dog Eyes

It's a long time since you got a raise, then.. Sweat But like you said, at least you still have a job. Something to be thankful for.

Yup.

From some of the old-timers here, the odds of getting hit by lightning is higher than getting a raise. Sweat

On gross salary not net, and it also means less working hours, either they will close one day a week or during a certain time of the summer and all employees will have to take unpaid leave. Not nice at all.

Verbatim of a call I took today: Customer: "I need to know if my computer is grounded."
Me: "As far as I know it is."
Customer: "Okay, I just wanted to make sure."

        itai! Pat Pat Pat

It's difficult - my flatmate who will earn 25% less now won't be able to afford our shared appartment (she has a loan to pay back). We have decided to give it up by July Shameful Cry - the end of an era. Shameful Cry

On a positive note - my annual performance review went well Victory! Peace! and I will be slowly trained to become a people manager, ie having my own team in a couple of years w00t! - if I still have a job that is Beaten

My boss texted me this morning to tell me my shift has been cut tomorrow. Our district manager made her do it, because it's pretty short. So she's going to be working a double shift instead to cut down on labor (she's salaried so it doesn't matter). I'm happy to have a day off and all, but this just makes me really nervous. And where I had my sights on getting a new job has put a freeze on hiring as well. Damn the economy. When is it going to get better? Bang Head

The President's working on it... But it's not going to get better overnight, especially if all those stupid banks that are getting bailout money are spending it on themselves.... Bastards. Grumble

I know what you're talking about. If you go a bit overboard with text it means always an additional 4 pages.

I had a gross week - I got sucked into a powerstruggle with a very senior person who wanted to change a brand. You NEVER modify the brand architecture ever unless you re-brand.

Now I am very exhausted Tired
