I might've mentioned this before on this thread, but this topic is bound to bring up some debate, but if there's any hint of flaming or ugliness, expect this thread to get locked and/or posts deleted...

Smack!

I was thinking the same thing, but hope people will exercise restraint before deciding to flame. Trust me, I will let one rip/cut the cheese/release gasses if there are any signs of flaming....and it won't be pretty. hehe Twisted

marinakyo, in the H2 thread you mentioned that you didn't like Uchiyama Rina, Mimura, and Konishi Manami. What about those actresses make you feel that way? Is it their acting style?
I, for one, enjoy seeing those actresses in any drama. Could be 'cause I am a guy... hehe
Don't worry, I'm not mad at you. I am curious what others have to say.

Hahahaha

That kind of topic is dangerous, some fragile fans cant stand negative things about their fave 'artists'. Recently I said to a fan of Kyoko Fukada than she sings so bad, what an error from me... Bonk

I Like risks, so here the actresses/actor I dont like :

1) Uchiyama Rina : she acts so bad and her face is full of manners, stupid mimics.

2) Ryoko Hirosue : she is unbearable when she opens her mouth, bad acting too.

3) Mimura : why does she always smile like an idiot? All she can do is smile...Unbearable too.

4) Konishi Manami : No need to take sleepy pills, listen and watch Konishi Minami ZZZZZzzzzz

5) Takizawa Hideaki : same comment than for Konishi Manami

Hmmmm more women than men on my list, dont think its 'jealousy'
I Like some actresses too !! U can see the best actress on my signature... Mr Green

A lot of fangirls will now die of shock as I have just realized something.

Domoto Tsuyoshi--he isn't really that good in dramas in releasing happy or non-sourpuss emotions. This is evident in "Home Drama" and "To Heart," as well as the drama dud, "Motokare (He is my ex-boyfriend)."

He is known for not having to re-take scenes, but there is nothing particularly inspiring or moving about a lot of what he says. I was wont to think that this was the result of a light and badly written plot--or even a bad supporting cast member--but the truth is that his acting lacks emotion sometimes.

Though, he shines in "Summer Snow," a lot of his other works are depressing, and not from the subject matter (which you would think from "Home Drama" in which everyone dies in the first episode).

i dunthink tsuyoshi really act that well too..

and now i remember i dun really like Junichi Okada (V6), i noe i will be beaten to death to bad-mouth him, but mind u im a die-hard fan for V6. i love okada becuz he is part of V6, nt his solo thingy. to me he is one of those actors hu take any jobs tt come to him. i dunno how to elaborate but me and my sis dunlike him. but i love the okada in mona lisa no hohoemi, after the thingy abt him and yuka, i feel tt he s no longer the same.. Beaten Beaten he change from a real-humble boy to ambitious ego man, try to hard to make himself look cool..learn from tsuyoshi maybe..those extensions. why dun u grow ur own hair?? i mean all guys.. it look too fake..

This is not what I had in mind when I asked this question. I admit I was treading shallow waters, but I was curious. There are ways to criticize without being full-on attacks. Please allow me to rephrase your comments such that they aren't overtly malicious and forgive me if I insert words into your mouth.

(Again not my own opinions)

1) Uchiyama Rina : She tries too hard to bring emotion into her acting that it shows. It's not natural to me
2) Ryoko Hirosue : She is not believable when she acts
3) Mimura : She tends to smile no matter what the situation is.

In this way you get your point across without seeming hostile.

hilarious...ppl getting so worked up here...as if somebody slapped an actress that happened to be your wife or something...

between the amount of ppl collectively "hated" in here it's a wonder that some ppl watch dramas at a all....or perhaps they do in order to spit venom in this thread. or maybe all these japanese drama fanatics all worship at the altar of one show or actor/actress hehe

Rolling eyes

of course ppl will have their favorites and those they don't like...but relax man...ultimately it's just opinion so don't go frothing at the mouth to attack somebody....at the end of they day it doesn't mean sh*t. it's not like your voting for a politician.

Yeah, I agree, but it appears that some people are insensitive to others and have no tact.

Like I said a few posts back, this thread is begging for this type of bickering...

So until pending further review, this thread is locked.

Okay, I've talked to our fearless leader and I'm unlocking this thread...

And he wants me to reiterate, if you can't be nice or civil about your criticisms of the various artistes, expect your post(s) to be deleted...

I'm not trying to be fascist about this, but since some people can't seem to abide by the rules, the iron glove approach has to be taken.

Gomen nasai.

I think this is an interesting topic, thanks bmwracer for unlocking it Smile

I've noticed that when it comes to my own criticism of actors, I tend to be harder on the guys than the girls. Is it just me, or do Japanese actresses more accurately portray emotions than the guys? Or is it just that the guys are trying to portray typical Japanese male stoicism? If your only expressions are stone-face or grimace (YamaP, cough, cough), it's not acting.

And when the guys do try to cut up and do some physical humor, it often seems so ham-handed and phony. I was reminded of this when I watched an episode of Dekichatta Kekkon recently and saw Tsumabuki Satoshi trying to get the attention of his girlfriend who was rebuffing his advances each time: it looked like he was diving into the couch cushions behind her to find spare change or something.

hmmm.......so far I really don't think that Tacky guy who stars in Yoshitsune and S.O.S to be any good.

I couldn't finish Yoshitsune because I found that everytime I watch an episode, I get annoyed with his acting bleh Also, he seems to like to act as lame characters Sweat

I don't see how Yamapi is that great an actor either. He just pulls some great one liner and gets famous for it. "Bang" and "Kon Kon".......anyone can say that Sweat Sweat If he flaps his arms like wings and say "Bang" or does stuff like that again in another drama, I don't think i'll be watching any drama he stars again Shake Head

From what I've seen, most of those J-pop singers (male and female) turned "actors" are more about looking pretty and stylish... They never go against type...

oh crap, this is a really dangerous topic but everybody's entitled to their own opinions right?

i don't really hate these people, they just sorta make me cringe sometimes.

yonekura ryoko (ahh please don't kill me) = i don't necessarily hate her but she left a bad impression on me from her role in pretty girls. the way she played her character was just so pouty and whiny. but i guess that WAS her character. well, i'm getting sekai bijin right now so maybe my opinion will change but right now, whenever i see her on a program i hesitate a bit to continue watching

hirosue ryoko = it's her little mannerisms she does when she acts that sorta annoy me. when she's on a variety show she's quite fun though.

yuka = i think she tried too hard in her role in shinsengumi

takizawa hideaki = i usually enjoy his johnny's stuff but i hated the way he portrayed yoshitsune. it was quite boring and there were no emotions in his face most of the time

kamenashi kazuya = he just bothers me

sorry if i offended the fans of these peoples, that was not my intent at all.

Looking back in this thread a number of people have said they don't like hirosue ryoko. I've always thought she was a pretty good actress. I wonder if it's a girl/guy thing. It seems a lot of guys like her, but girls, not so much. She's not my favorite actress, but I feel she turns in credible performances. I'll have to keep an eye out for her mannerisms next time to see if I was just overlooking something.

well i think it's different for different people. what i find annoying in her might be jsut fine to somebody else. it's really hard to put in words what she does that annoys me because i can't pinpoint it myself

True, this is a dangerous thread.

I've gotta keep really good tabs on this one or it'll get out of hand as in the past.
