Hope this works out... If it were here in the States, it'd be more troubling and worrisome. Sweat

i seen this on http://www.japan-zone.com/news/2009/08/27/index.shtml

Threats of a bomb attack against a popular celebrity were posted on the Japanese version of Wikipedia, according to a police statement issued today. The poster wrote that a hand grenade would used to kill people at a concert featuring talento Ueto Aya (23) on August 31. Ueto is scheduled to perform at the "Happy Magic" event at Zepp Tokyo on that date, her first concert in about two years. Police at the nearby Tokyo Wangan Station issued a warning to organizers and requested that security be beefed up for the event. They are also investigating the incident as a possible criminal case. Such online abuse is common Wikipedia, which allows anyone to update it's millions of information pages. The organization has recently begun looking at enforcing a change that would require editorial approval for all changes to pages about living people. A popular actress in TV dramas and commercials, Ueto is a former idol singer who is most often seen these days as the face of the Softbank mobile phone network (photo: Ueto and Softbank CEO Son Masayoshi).

was this the right spot to post this?

There are wackos everywhere:

Police arrest man for death threats against Hitoshi Matsumoto
Mon, September 7, 2009 (5:02am EDT)
Police recently arrested a man suspected of making death threats against popular comedian Hitoshi Matsumoto (45) of the duo Downtown. Katsumi Sakurai (35), an unemployed male from Saitama, allegedly posted multiple comments on an internet message board stating that he would kill Matsumoto.

A total of 38 messages were written on the message board on July 6-7, sent from the man's mobile phone. The messages included lines such as "I'm a fanatic of Matsumoto. I am going to kill him."

According to his agency Yoshimoto Kogyo, an employee discovered the messages later that month and notified Matsumoto. Because of his concern for his pregnant wife, he reported the incident to police.

The suspect Sakurai admitted guilt, saying that he did it for fun and a bit of fame. He stated that Matsumoto was not chosen for any specific reason - it could have been anyone as long as it was a celebrity.

Body found on mountain confirmed as 'Crayon Shinchan' cartoonist

Monday 21st September, 06:01 AM JST

MAEBASHI \

A body found on a mountain straddling Gunma and Nagano prefectures was confirmed Sunday as that of Yoshihito Usui, cartoonist of the popular eeCrayon Shinchanff series adapted for TV and film. Usuifs family confirmed the identity of the body that was found by a climber on Saturday on 1,423-meter Mt Arafune, Gunma prefectural police said. The body was covered in bruises and no suicide notes were found near the body or in his belongings. Police said he may have fallen from a climbing path.

Usui, 51, had been missing since Sept 11, after telling his family at his home in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, that he would be hiking on the mountain and would be back by the evening. His family contacted police the following day as he never returned.

Near body, police also found a broken digital camera, a backpack containing a mobile phone and a wallet, and shoes.

The body was retrieved from around 100 meters below a cliff on a climbing path and airlifted by helicopter to a police station.

Usui started drawing eeCrayon Shinchan,ff the story of feisty kindergarten boy Shinnosuke Nohara living in Kasukabe with his family, in a comic book published by Futabasha Publishers Ltd in 1990.

The city of Kasukabe issued a special residence card for the Nohara family in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the municipality and has also been using Shinchan since April as the cityfs mascot for its childrearing support campaign.

And everybody in the J-Ent world is giving a big-fat "thank you" to Noriko Sakai:

Stardust celebs to undergo drug tests

On Friday, management agency Stardust Promotion announced a significant move in response to the recent show business drug scandals. The company said that it will begin conducting voluntary drug tests of the celebrities it represents, which include some of the biggest names in entertainment.

Stardust said that the tests would be administered with each person's permission. The company plans to use drug detection kits that are manufactured by a U.S. company.

Stardust's roster includes Takako Tokiwa, Yasuko Matsuyuki, Miki Nakatani, Yuko Takeuchi, Kou Shibasaki, Keiko Kitagawa, Kippei Shiina and Hayato Ichihara. Until very recently, the agency also managed Erika Sawajiri.

I wonder how "voluntary" the tests will be? Probably something like, "If you want to keep your job, you'll volunteer for this test." Whipped

Well, if they refuse to volunteer, they'll make themselves suspicious in the eyes of the public.

You're probably correct. Very perceptive. Have you ever thought of becoming a teacher?

Takako Matsu stars in next Tetsuya Nakashima film

Wed, November 4, 2009

Actress Takako Matsu (32) is starring in "Kokuhaku," a new film by director Tetsuya Nakashima ("Kamikaze Girls"). The film is an adaptation of Kanae Minato's mystery novel of the same name, which became one of the best selling books this year.

The story takes place at a junior high school. During a homeroom session after the end-of-year closing ceremony, the teacher Moriguchi (played by Matsu) informs her students that she has decided to quit, but adds in a surprising confession - her four-year-old daughter who drowned in the school's pool was actually killed by two of the male students in the room. She begins to take revenge by declaring that she has infected them with the HIV virus, and the truth behind the incident starts to unravel.

The class of 37 students were chosen from an audition of more than 1,000 applicants. Masaki Okada (20) plays Moriguchi's enthusiastic replacement, while Yoshino Kimura (33) plays the mother of one of the targeted boys that has become a hikikomori.
